CNTINUED PROPOSED PRELIMINARY PLAT:-`P-S.g-03, SOUTHHAMPTON
DDITION. JULI
CTION C0: Outlot 2, Worrel's Addn.
Th Subcommittee and Mr. Julian Johnson met at seven o'clock
and walked over the area.
After checking an aerial topog map and half section, the Sub-
committee came up with several proposed street laouts, but felt
that if Mr. Johnson could get the cooperation of the owners of the
land to the North and South, perhaps better street plans could be
evolved. Mr. Johnson agreed.
MOTION by Nagel, seconed by Schmedeke, that the continued
proposed preliminary plat, P.S. #68-03, Southhampton 2nd Addition,
Julian M, Johnson Construction Co. of Outlot 2, Worrel's Addition,
be continued until the next meeting of July 18, 1968. Upon a voice
vote, all voting aye, the motion carried unanimously,
2. CONTINUED LOT SPLIT REQUEST; L.S. #68-03, JOSEPH ZIZAK: Lots 6
tha 9, Block 27, Hyde Park Addition.
Because Mr. Zizak was not present, it was assumed he had not
resolved his problem. This item was tabled to July 18, 1968.
3. VACATION STUDY: 56th Avenue between 4th and 7th Street.
The members, individually, had checked the area to see how
it would be affeczted if the street were vacated. It was noted that
the property owners would have no use for a paved street as the're
was access to 6th Street and 7th Street, Also that 7th Street has
heavy traffic at the present time and would probably increase in
the future, Now that there is a storm sewer in the Drive-In, it
was noted that 4th Street could be a main street and traffic coming
from the Drive-In would use 56th Avenue bringing too much traffic
through ihe neighborhood and the people would probably prefer
having it vacated for that reason. Also, if the street were vacated,
all signs of a street being there would have to be obliterated.
They could not vacate and leave it the way it is now as it would
be an eyesore. It seems twelve people are involved and the
Subcommittee wished a notice to be sent to them inviting them to
the meeting of July 18, 1968.
