Ordinance No. 0379 11-20-1967fi () ORDINANCE NO. 379 AN EMERGENCY ORDID7F�7CE REGULATING PARKING ON CITY STREETS AND AMENDING SECTIONS 76.03, 76.05, 76.09 (d), and 76.12 (a). THE COUNCIL OF TF� CITY OF FRIDLEY DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: That the Council of the City of Fridley finds that it is necessary to put into e£fect an emergency ordinance regulating parking on City Streets throughout the year and particularly during the winter months �o as to allow for proper snow removal. 9ECTION II: Section 76.03 0£ the Fridley City Cade is Hereby amended to read as fo�_lows: SECTION 76.03 _POSTING SDTdFT REMOVAL � No-person shall stop, or park, or leave standing a vehicle on a street or highway when directed or ordered ta proceed by an}° police officer invested by: law with authority to direct, control, or regula�e traffic. Whenever any street or highway shall be posted (either temporarily or permanently} by order oE the police for the purposes of traffic control, removal oi snow, ice or waste, maintenance or improvement, or otherwise, evidence of such p�sting shall constitute prima facie evidence of such order of the police and notice of the same by a police officer. During the winter ' , months, commencing on the first (lst) day of Novembe� of any ; year, to and including the first (1stJ day of May of the following year, no person sha11 stop, park or leave standing a vehicle on any street or highway in such manner as to impede the removal of snow, ice or waste on such stree� or highway, Y7hen found necessary and appropriate to the removal o� snow, ice or waste, or the proper control or regulation o£ traffic, the police, by order duly made, and posted may provide for the stopping, stazc�ing and parking of a vehicle on one side of the street or highway only; and thereafter it shall be unlawful for any person to stop, leave standing or park a vehicle contrary to such order. SECTION III: Section 76.05 of the Fridley City Code is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 76.05 PROHIBITION No person shall stop, park or leave a vehicle standing unattended upon such street or highway in the City of Fridley during the hours oP 1:00 A.M. and 6:00 A.M., inclusive, except that o£ a physician or an emergency call. SECTION IV� section 76.09 (d) of the Fridley Citg:COde is hereby amencled to read as follows: SECTI�T 76.09 (d) STOPPIDTG ANn STAND2NG d. SECTION V: Section 76.12 (aj of the Fridley City Code is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 76.12 (a) NARROF7 STREETS a. 7Fhe City Manager is hereby authori zed to erect signs indicating no parkinq upon any street when the width of the roadway does not exceed 20 feet, or upon one side o£ a street as indicated by such signs when the width of the roadway does not exceed 30 feet.
