ORDINANCE NO. 492
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING CFIAPTER 23 OF THE FRSDLEY CITY CODE REGULATING THE
LICENSING AND MANNER OF CONDUCTING DANCES
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY DOE5 ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Minnesota Statutes Sections 624.42.to 624.54 inclusive are hereby adopted by
reference and shall be in full £orce and e£fect in the City of Fridley inso£ar
as applicable.
SECTION I2.
No person shall conduct a public dance unless he shall have £irst obtained
a permit therefor from the City. r
Fee for such permit shall be as £ollows: $25.00 per year.
It is further provided that the Council may grant permits without charge,
when it is satisfied that the dance is non-profit or is the nature of a
civic undertaking.
The verified application to the Clerk shall be upon blanks £urnished by the '
City. It shall state the name and address o£ the applicant or organization. -
It shall state the location where the dance is to be held and the size of
the dance area. The applicant shall be required to state if he has been
convicted o£ a felony or gross misdemeanor within the past five years.
The Clerk shall submit said application to the Council.
The Council may grant or xe£use said permit in its discretion. It shall not
grant a permit unless it is satisfied that the applicant is a person o£ good
reputation, has not been convicted o£ a felony or gross misdemeanor for five
years, that the location is proper and suitahle, that sanitary facilities are
proper, and that applicant is capable of maintaining order.
SECTION III.
The permit shall be posted in a visable place at said dance. The applicants
for said permit shall be held responsible for the manner of conducting said
dance. A peace of£icer or peace officers must be present at all times while
said public dance is being held.
SECTIOPI IV:
Any person violati.ng any provision of this ordinance shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not
more than $300.00� imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or both.
Person means any person, persons, firms or corporations.
SECTION V.
This ordinance shall be effective on.passage and publication according to law
