pcopositioned by custaners of this house o prostitution. Its mere presenoe
was an awkward oomradiction to the morality in which he is trying to briiig
up his family.
Mr. Rroll stated he would like to aamend the City of Fridley for its public
stand against this kiryd of establisrment. 7,#ie City o Fridley has enacted
etrict legislation regarding the operation af massage parlours, saunas, an
like businesses. More reoently, the City enacted an ordinance to f ine ani
business which has three or more convictions for prostitution or
postitutiorrrelated offenses on its prenises within a two-year period as a
nuisanoe to the aanmunity giving the City the ric,t to close it dawn.
Mr. Rroll stateci that on Zriursday, Novenber 29, 1984, the City of Fridley
Folice Degartment made its first arrest of prostitution under this
ordinanoe. Ae would 1 ike to thank the Pol ice Departsnent of the City of
Fridley for its avift action in this matter. Nothing would glease him more
than for this blatant, illegal operation to leave Fridley. He would urge
the City to make every effort to ensure that the second and third arrests
are obtained as soon as possible. Ae was vonfident every effort would be
tnac3e.
