SECTION 1. That maintenance� occupancy� and ueo of dwellings and premisea '
are hereby regulated ae followa:

"H�using Code"� may be cited as Buch and will be referred to herein ae "thie Code".
� �ection 5:2102. The purp000 of thie Code is to provide minimum require-,
ments for the protection of life� limb� health, property, safoty, and welfare of the ,'� "
general Fublic and the ownera and occunants of reaidential buildin�s.

- �ection 5:2103. (a) Applicatio�. The provisiona of this Code ehall apply �
� ' to all buildings or portions thereof, uQed, or designed or intended to be ueed, for ,
' human habitation. Such occupanciea in axisting buildin�e may be continued as pro- �
vided in �ection 5:104 (g) of the St. Louis Park Building Codo, except auch etructuree �
as are found to be eubetandard as defincd in this Code. �
l�here any building or portio_z thereof� is usoG or intended to be used as
an apartznent house or hotel� the proviniona of thie CodQ shall apply to the eoparate �
portiona as if they were separate buildi:��s. '
. (b) Alteration. Existin� buildinga which are altered or enlarged shall be
made to conform to thie Code inaofar an the� new work is coneerned and in accordance �
with Section 5:104, Subdivisione a, b, c, d, '�nd e of the St. Louis Park Building Code. -•
� (c) Relocation. Existing builclizige which are moved or relocated shall be

Every owner shall, where required by thie Code, the health ordinances ���
or the health officer, furnieh and maintain such approved eanitary facilities as �

lities for the prevention of ineect and rodent infestation, and where infeatation hae ��'°� �°
taI en place, shall be reeponsible for the extermination of any insects, rodents,
or other pests when auch extermination ie not epecifically made the responeibility . `

Every occupant of a dwelling unit, in addition to being responeible foz
keepin� in a clean, eanitary� and aafe condition that part of the dwelling or dwelY- �
- ing unit or premises which he occupiee and controlo, ehall diepose of all hie rubbieh,
garbagQ and other organic waste in a manner required by the health ordinance and .; ��

or the health officer, furnish and maintain approved devices, equipment or facili-
tiee necoosary to keep his premiees eafe and sanitary. . `
Section 5:2 202. All buildin�a or portione thereof which are deterrriined to

and ehall be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition, or removal in accordanee
with the procedure apecified in Sectiona 5:1025 ta 5:1036� �ot6 iaclueive, of tlie �

^ Section 5:2204. It ehall be unlawful for any pexeon, firm, or corporation '
co erect, conatruct. enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert, or .
demolieh, equfp, uee, occupy� or ma.intain any buildin� or etructure in the city� or �
cause or permit the eame to be done, contrary to or in violation of any of the pro-
visione of this Code. . ,
Any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the proviaions of this
Code shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and each such person shall be deemed
guilty of a separate offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which
any violation of any of the provieione of thie Code ie cornmitted, continued, or
permitted, and upon conviction of any such violation euch pereon shall be-punished '
by a fine of not more than one hundred dollare ($100.00) or by imprieonment for
not to exceed ninety (90) daye.
