have be�ause of the legibility and especially the ability to see the stxeet

fire depax'tment by putting these signs on the main intersectiona, it wou�.d be

Mr. Schmedeke referred to the request for a Special Use Permit for the sale
of recreational equipment in Herwal 2nd Addition and the objections of the neigh-
bors. He suggested the Planning Com�ission take a good look at the GO foot plaat-
ing strip and consider planting some evergreen trees so that it would make a more
desirable buffer and attract a developer.
Mr. Harris said that if the planting strip is deeded to the City, who i.s
xesponsible for the trash and litter that has accuu�lated there? H�e wondered 1�'
thi$ would be a good place to dump street sweepings as the land is pretty law.
Mr. Minish mentioned that trees produce more oxygen, and wondered if the
evergreen tree produced as much oxygen as the deciduous trees, and also if they
did in the winter. Mr. Schmedeke said it should be looked into, and added that
every time we can plant a tree, it will benefit our children. He felt the
deciduous trees l.00k very good in the summer, but the evergreen trees can be eajoyed
all year around.
