Ms. C�stle stated this p�perty was located in an 1�1, sir�le family, zoning
distri.ct with 1�1 to the mrth, west, ar�cl mst. The zonirx� to the south was
1�3, general multiple chvellirigs, and there were a�artment buildir�s located
there.
Ms. Castle stated the petitioner was requesting to construct a third
accessoxy building on the lot. He currently has a twa-car garage attached
to the house and a storage shed., approx. 7,200 sq. ft. The proposed
^ buildir�g would be 42 ft. by 26 ft. or 1,196 sq. ft.

�-.\ Ms. C�stle stated the petitioner has also applied for t�vo variar�ces. Those
went to and were appn7ved by the Appeals C,aianission on Auguat 2. Those were
to increase the total floor area of alt accessozy buildi ngs f ran 1, 4 0 0 sq.
ft. to 1,868 sq. ft. ar�d to increase the square footage of an accessozy
building fxun 1,000 sq. ft. to 1,196 sq. ft.
Ms. C�stle stated staft was recaYUt►ending appraval of the spccial use pernnit
with the following stipulations:
1. This accessozy building is mt to be used for autamQbile storage.
2. There is to be m access f znn the accessoYy buildir� to Or�rnlaga
Street.
3. The design of the building is to be arcYiitecturally arnpatible with
- the house.
Mr. Barrra questioned why the first stipulation was for autanobile storage
when the petitior�er has said �rt of the use of this building would be to
store an autamobile, boat, etc.
Ms. Castle stated it was her tmdersta.nding that the atructure would riot be
fo� autanQbile storage on a pe�manent basis. Her main corlcem was that the
buildirbg mt turn ir�#:o a autanobile repair business.
^ Mr. Thana.s Kallroos shawed pictures of the property as it exists naw. He
st�ted he certainly had r� intention of using the structure for an
autanobile re�air business. It was to be used for his woodworking shop
which had to be mwed out af the house beca.use of his wite's allergies and
astrmia. It would also be used for storage of yazd equignerlt, boat, etc.
Mr. Kallroos stated he had tvao letters he would like to give to the
Cur¢nission fran his neighbors stating they had r�o obj ection to a third
accessory building.

Mr. Kallznos stated the new structure would look just like the house, and it
would mt be wer 14 f eet high.

Mr. Rallroos stated the structure would be well ir�sulated.
Mr. Saba stated there were no houses bacx there so that shouldn't be a
pr�blan.
Ms. C`astle stated the City had a Noise Ordinance wh�.ch would take care of
any noise pmblems.
Mr. Barna suggested that in stipulation #1, the words "autcanobil e storage"
be-changed to "autanabile re�ir business".
Mr. Barna stated this properiy was mt really visible fran any accessible
ar�as, and he would have no obj ections to reccarmneriding approval of the
sp�cial use permit.
