The Comnissioners 6riefly.discussed the goais and objectives as written up in
their final form. Mr. Wagar mentioned thatit would be difficu}t to implement all
that is writte.n in the goals and objectives without a bond issue. Mr. Peterson
explained that the Planning Cammissian needs a plan first. He said that project
committees are gaing ta be utilized to implementthe goals ard ob3ectives far the

Mr. Boardman ex,leined the Planning Commission decided ta establish some goals

corrnnittee must be chaired by a commission member. He said those on the Planning .
Commission felt it was too much of a burden on the commissioners; that it would
either: 1) limit the number of project committees working or 2) just be a burden
so that the commission members wouldn't feel that they could serve. He stated the
suggested wording is, "A cormission member may be a project cotrtittee chairman."
He said the Planning Corrnnission felt if there was a particular area that a commission
member felt deeply interested in and wanted to be the chairman of that project
committee, that they shoud have that prerogative, but if not then we woufid ask
someone from the citizenry to chair it. Mr. Boardman mentioned that he did not like
the idea of a one person project cammittee. He felt this type of a project committee
only adds more wark at the.commission level. He explained the reason for the project
committees was to get the citizenry together to talk it over and set up some kind of
"action report° which can come back to the commission.. The commissioners agreed
with Mr. Boardman wholeheartedly.
