CONSIDERbTION OF PLACEMENT OF' NO-PARKING SIGNS:
The Mayor announced that the owners of the Rice Creek Grocery had
requested no-parking signs in front of their grocery store on the
East River Road. Motion by Johanson to request Anoka County to
place no-parking signs on �he East River Road in front of the Rice
Creek Grocery. Seconded by Nagel. Upon a voice vote� there being
no nsys, the motion carried unanimously.
I,�TTER REGARDING DRAINAGE PROBLEM AT 6536 MAIN STREET:
There was discussion ss to the cause of this drainage problem,
Motion by Nagel to instruct Comstock and Davis to submit a
recommendation for the solution of the drainage problem at 6536 Main
Street. Seconded by Johanson. Upon a voice vote� there being no
nays� the motion carried una�iimously.
LETTER CONCERNING WATER CONNECTIONS FOR LOT 2, bLOCK 25 �DE_PARK:
Zhe above lot was not s�tuated on an existing lateral or main line.
Motion by Nagel that the request for connection to a water line be
denied� and the interested party should be instructed to circulate
a petition for laterals if they wish to have water service in the
area. 3econded by 3ohanson. Upon a voice vote� there being no
nays� the motion carried unanimously.

The City Manager stated that the bid for the above pro�ect was
$2�500.00 over the Engineers' estimate. The bidders were as follows:

The Mayor wanted to go on record as si.ating that if the bid were nOt

Motion by Nagel to continue the hearing until October 4th� as the
hard shell was not ready. Seconded by Sheridan. Upon a voice vote�

FUBLIC HEARING VACATING A PORTION OF MAIN STREET NORTH UF MISSISSIPPI:
The City Manager announced no additional land was available for the
service road up along the railroad tracks� and north of A7ississippi
Street. Mr. Evert Carlson was present� arid stated the widening
of Main Street was going to deprive him of guest �+arking f'or his
apartment buildings on Main Street, South of Highway �100. No
one else appeared for or against the proposed vacation of Main
Street. Mr. 5heridan stated the 30 foot service road would not be
sufficient if it is to be a regular industrial thoroughfare. Mr.
Segner explained the position of the Planning Commission with regard
to the vacation of a portion of Main Street. Motion by Sheridan
to call the hearing to a close. Seconded by Nagel. Upon a voice
vote� there being no nays� the motion carried unanimausly.

The Manager stated the zoning request was made with the intention
of setting up a buffer of R-3 between the Coff,mercial and the Resi-
dential. Mot3,on by Sheridan to set a public hearing for October
4th on the proposed rezoning. Seco-:ded by Na^el. Upon a voice
vote� there being no nays� the motion carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
Mr. Schultz was present� and stated he had releases from the various
private utilities for the proposed easement vacation. No one else
appeared for or sgainst the praposed vacation. Motion by Nagel to
close the hearing. Secorided t�y Sheridan. Upon a voice vote� there
being no nays� the motion carried unanimously,

The City r�anager announced that the �ewsPaper had printed the date
of the hearing as 5eptenber 29� instead of the 20th. The City
Attorney stated that a corrected notice shou]_d be put in the papeT
and the hearing held on October 4th. Motion by Sheridan to in-
