A RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENTS, APPROVAL
OF PLANS, AND ORDERING ADVERTISING FOR BIDS - W&S #41
WHEREAS, the resolution of the City Council adopted the 16th
day of August, 1960, set the date for hearing on Lhe proposed im-
provements, as specifically noted in the notice of hearing attach-
ed hereto for reference as EXHIBIT "A" (Exhibit "A" - See Publica-
tion Notices under dates of August 25th and September 1st, 1960),
and,
WHEREAS, all the property owners whose property is liable to
be assessed with the making of these improvements (as noted in said
notice) were given ten (10) days nublished notice of the Council
hearing through two (2) weekly publications of the required notice,
and the hearing was held and the property owners heard thereon at
the hearing, as noted in said notice.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of
Fridley, Minnesota, as follows:
' 1. That the following improvements heretofore proposed by
Council resolution are hereby ordered to be effected and
completed as soon as reasonably possible, to -wit:
a. All of the improvements as noted in the notice of
hearing on the same as are noted (in Exhibit "A")
in said notice except (none); that the work involved
in said improvements as listed above shall hereafter
be designated as:
WATER AND SEWER IDiPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 41 -1960.
2. The plans and specifications prepared by Comstock and
Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, for such improve-
ments and each of them, pursuant to the Council reso-
lution heretofore adopted, a copy of which plans and
specifications are hereto attached and made a part here-
of, are hereby approved and shall be filed with the
City Clerk.
3. The work to be performed under WATFR AND 17M41FR IMPROVE-
MENT PROJECT NO. 41 -1960, shall be performed under one
contract.
The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause
to be inserted in the official newspaper advertise-
ments for bids uocn the making of such improvements
under such approved plans and specifications. The ad-
vertisement shall be published for 3 weeks (at least
21 days), and shall specify the work to be done and
will state that bids will be opened and considered at
12:00 o'clock, Noon, on the 1st day of November, 1960,
in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that no
bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with
the City Clerk, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid
bond, or certified check payable to the City for five
percent (5 %) of the amount of such bid. That the adver-
tisement for bids for WATER Ai'D SEWER IMPR.OVEMEMT PRO-
JECT N0. 41 -1960 shall oe substantially in form as that
noted in Exbibit "B" attached hereto for reference and
made a part hereof. (Exhibit "B" - See Project File
under W & S Project No. 41- 1960).

NOTICE TO COVTRACTORS
Sealed bids will be received until 12:00 o'clock Noon on the lot
day of November, 1960, by the City Council of the City of Fridley,
Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, for the fu rnishing of
work and materials for the installation of Water and Sanitary Sewer
Improvement Project Number 41.
The project consists of the following approximate quantities:
3,940 Lin. Ft. 6" and 1" Waterlines with appurtenances.
3,870 Lin. Ft. 8" and 6" VCP Sanitary Sewer with appurtenances.
All bids must be made upon printed proposal forms, furnish6d
and in accordance with the plans and specifications. Plans and speci-
fications may be examined at the office of the City Manager and copies
may be had for the Contractor's individual use by applying to $:e Engin-
eers, Comstock & Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 1446 County Road "J",
Minneapolis 21, Minnesota, Telephone: STJnset 4 -9346. Plans and speci-
fications may be had by depositing $25.00 per copy.
Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work and
accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check on a responsible bank in the
State of Minnesota, or a bidder's bond, and payable without condition to
the City of Fridley, Minnesota, in the amount of not less than 5% of the
total amount of the bid accompanying such cash deposit, certified check,
or bidder's bond. The City Council reserves the right to waive any infor-
malities in any bid received, and to reject any or all bids received, with-
out explanation. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty days.
