A RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENTS, A°PROVAL
OF PT.ANF, AY.D ORDERT_:,'G ADVERTISING FOR BIDS - W #34A
WHEREAS, the resolution of the City Council adopted the 7th
day of June, 1960, set the date for hearing on the proposed im-
provements, as specifically noted in the notice of hearing attach-
ed hereto for reference as EXHIBIT "A "; and, (That part of Exhi-
bit "Ai" which refers to the area North of Rice Creek in Project
34 -A) (Exhibit "A" - see Publication Notices under dates of
June 9th and June 16th, 1960)
WHEREAS, all the property owners whose property is liable
to be assessed with the making of these improvements (as noted
in said notice) were given ten (10) days published notice of the
Council hearing through two (2) weekly publications of the re-
quired notice, and the hearing was held and the property owners
heard thereon at the hearing, as noted in said notice.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Council of the City
of Fridley, Minnesota, as follows:
1. That the following improvements heretofore pr000sed by
Council resolution are hereby ordered to be effected
and completed as soon as reasonably possible, to -wit:
a. All of the improvements as noted in the notice of
hearing on the same as are noted (in Exhibit "A ")
in said notice, except (none); that the work in-
volved in said improvements as listed above shall
hereafter be designated as:
WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 34 -A (PARTIAL WATER DIS-
TRIBUTION NETWORK) 1960.
2. The plans and specifications prepared by the Consult-
ing Engineers, Comstock and Davis, Inc. for such im-
provements and each of them, pursuant to the Council
resolutions heretofore adopted, a copy of which plans
and specifications are° - hereto attached and made a part
hereof, are hereby approved and shall be filed with
the City Clerk.
3. The work to be performed under WATER IMPROVEMENT PRO-
JECT 34 -A (PARTIAL WATER DISTRIBUTION NEIWORK)_1960,
shall be performed under one contract.
The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to
be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for
bids upon the making of such improvements under such ap-
proved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall
be published for 3 weeks (at least 21 days) and shall
specify the work to be done and will state that bids will
be opened and considered at 12:00 ofclock, Noon, on the
day of September 6, 1960, in the Council Chamber of the
City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless
sealed and filed with the City Clerk, and accompanied by
a cash deposit, bid bond or certified check payable to
the City for five percent (5 %) of the amount of such bid.
That the advertisement for bids for WATER IMPRCVEMENT
PROJECT 34 -A (PARTIAL WATER DISTRIBtTION NET4JORK) 1960,
shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit
"B" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof.

CITY OF FRIDLEY
NOTICE OF HEARING ON IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County,
Minnesota, has deemed it necessary and expedient that the improve-
ments hereinafter described be made.
NOW, THEREFORE, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT on the 21st day of Junes
19600 at 7:30 o'clock P.M., the City Council will meet at the City Hall
' in said City, and will at said time and place, hear all parties interested
in said improvements in whole or in part.
The general nature of the improvements is the construction (in the
lands and streets noted below) of the following improvements, to -wit:
CONSTRUCTION ITEM:
A. A complete municipal water system throughout the City of Fridley
supplementing and integrating therein the municipal system now in
existence in part of the City of Fridley, and including, but not
limited to the following:
1. Not less then Four (4) Additional Wells; one elevated Storage Tank;
at least Two (2) Iron Removal Plants; together with pumps and
pumphouses and Tanks; and approximately 20 miles of inter - connecting
supply mains, or major distribution feeder mains; and all appur-
tenances incidental thereto, as are necessary or desirable to pro-
vide to the entire City of Fridley an overall system of municipal
water.

2. Approximately three (3) miles of additional watermaina, laterals
and service connections to provide a full and complete municipal
' water service to areas of land and properties not so serviced
presently, and also as may improve and provide a better service
to lands and areas already receiving some water service.

THAT THE AREA PROPOSED TO BE ASSESSED FOR SAID IMPROVEMENTS ( AND EACH
OF THEM) IS AS FOLLOWS:
FOR CONSTRUCTION ITEM A. ABOVE:
All of the lands of the City of Fridley, wherever the same may Its
and as are encompassed within the limits of the City of Fridley as
may receive benefit by said improvements or any of them.
All of said lands to be assessed proportionately according to the
benefits received by such improvements.
That the Council proposes to proceed with each of said improvements
as separate improvements, except as hereafter otherwise provided by the
Council all under the following authority, to -wit: Minnesota Laws 1953,
Chapter 398, and laws amendatory thereof, and in conformity with the
City Charter.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Sealed bids will be received, publicly opened and considered by the
City Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office
of the City Manager in said City on the 6th day of September, 1960, at
12:00 o'clock noon for the furnishing of work and materials for the install-
ation of Water Improvement Project Number 34 -A.
The project consists of the following approximate quantities:
25,000 Lin. Ft. 20" to 6" Water lines with appurtenances.
All bids must be made upon printed proposal forms, furnished and in
accordance with the plans and specifications. Plans and specifications
may be examined at the office of the City Manager and copies may be had
for the Contractor's individual use by applying to the Engineers, Com-
stock and Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 1446 County Road "J ",
Minneapolis 21, Minnesota, Telephone SUnset 4 -9346. Plans and speci-
fications may be had by depositing $50.00 per copy.
Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work and
accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check on a responsible bank
in the State of Minnesota, or a bidder's bond, and made payable without con-
dition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota, in the amount of not Tess than
5% of the total amount of the bid accompanying such cash deposit, cer-
tified check or bidder's bond. The City Council reserves the right to
waive any informalities in any bid received, and to reject any or all bids
received, without explanation. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of
thirty days.
