BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Fridley, as follows: 1. That it is in the interest of the City to purchase the following items or materials for the City Administrative Department and the Municipal Liquor Stores: ONE "COMPACT" STATION WAGON ONE "COMPACT" SEDAN 2. A copy of the plans and specifications for the above described items and materials, together with a proposal for the method of purchase and the payment thereof have been presented to the Council by the City Manager and the same are hereby approved and adopted as the plans and specifica- tions, and the method of acquisition and payment to be re- quired by the City with respect to the acquisition of said items and materials. 9. Such assessment shall be payable in one or twenty installments payable on the first day of January in each year, beginning in the year 1963, and continuing until all of said installments shall have been paid, each install- ment to be collected with taxes collectible during said year ' by the County Auditor. 10. The City Clerk is hereby directed to make up and file in the office of the County Auditor of Anoka County a certi- fied statement of the amount of all such unpaid assessments and the amount which will be due thereon on the 1st day of January in each year. Said notice shall be published at least 15 days or through two (2) publications in the official newspaper of the City of Fridley. Brunsell RESOLUTION NO. 156 -1962 RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CONSTRUCTION OF A COUNTY ROAD WHEREAS, the City of Fridley has been informed that cer- tain county road proceedings establishing a road on December 12, 1917, and which proceedings are recorded with the Register of Deeds in Book G, page 345, Commissioner's Proceedings, Anoka County Court House made possible a road to be construc- ted traveling east and west through the northern part of Fridley and to a road known as East River Road, and WHEREAS, it is then brought to the attention of the City of Fridley that in order to proceed with the construc- tion of such road that it is important that the City of Fridley request the County Board to put this road in their construction plans for the year 1963, and WHEREAS, the City of Fridley considers the construction of this road important to the welfare of the people of Fridley and the surrounding areas, and WHEREAS, the City of Fridley feels that such a road would increase the commercial activity in the general area including the northern part of the City of Fridley and thus would be of benefit to the tax valuations in the entire county and particularly in the middle part of the County of Anoka, and WHEREAS, the City of Fridley feels that there is -a lack of communication between what is considered the east side of the County of Anoka and the west side of the County of Anoka due to the fact that there are very few connecting roads crossing the county and the construction of this road would aid that difficult situation and make the flow of traf- fic easier between two of the two sections of the County, and WHEREAS, the construction of the road would lessen the amount of local traffic on the already over - crowded public highways in the County of Anoka crossing from east to west and thus increase traffic safety and lessen the hazards of traveling on the ever dangerous Highway #10. RESOLUTION NO. 155 EXHIBIT "A" CITY OF FRIDLEY NOTICE TO BIDDERS COMPACT STATION WAGON AND COMPACT SEDAN The City Council of the City of Fridley will accept bids.on one "Compact" Station Wagon and one "Compact" Sedan on the 11th day of October, 1962, until 12:00 o'clock noon on said date at the City Hall, 6431 University Avenue Northeast, Fridley 21, Minnesota, (Tel. 560 - 3450). All bids must meet the minimum requirements of the specifications. Failure to comply with this section can result in disqualification of the bid. Each bid or bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in an amount of not less than 5% of the bid or bids, w'.­i ch check or bond shall be forfeited if the bidder neglects or refuses to enter into a contract, or to furnish a 100% performance bond after his bid has been accepted. The City reserves the right to accept the bid or bids which are determined to be in the best interest of the City. The City res- erves the right to reject any and all bids, and waive all informal- ities or technicalities in any bid. The City council also reserves the right to consider such fac- tors as time of delivery or performance, experience and responsibility of the bidder, past performance of similar types of items or materials availability of replacement parts, and other similar factors that it may detarmine in the best interest of the City. Copies of the specifications and general conditions may be examined in the 0 "fice of the City Manager, or copies may be obtained from his office. All bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes and plainly marked on the outside that the contents is a hid on one "Compact" Station Wagon and one "Compact" Sedan.
