RESOLUTION NO. 156 -1962
RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CONSTRUCTION OF A COUNTY ROAD
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley has been informed that cer-
tain county road proceedings establishing a road on December
12, 1917, and which proceedings are recorded with the Register
of Deeds in Book G, page 345, Commissioner's Proceedings,
Anoka County Court House made possible a road to be construc-
ted traveling east and west through the northern part of
Fridley and to a road known as East River Road, and
WHEREAS, it is then brought to the attention of the
City of Fridley that in order to proceed with the construc-
tion of such road that it is important that the City of
Fridley request the County Board to put this road in their
construction plans for the year 1963, and
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley considers the construction
of this road important to the welfare of the people of Fridley
and the surrounding areas, and
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley feels that such a road
would increase the commercial activity in the general area
including the northern part of the City of Fridley and thus
would be of benefit to the tax valuations in the entire county
and particularly in the middle part of the County of Anoka, and
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley feels that there is -a lack
of communication between what is considered the east side
of the County of Anoka and the west side of the County of
Anoka due to the fact that there are very few connecting
roads crossing the county and the construction of this road
would aid that difficult situation and make the flow of traf-
fic easier between two of the two sections of the County, and
WHEREAS, the construction of the road would lessen the
amount of local traffic on the already over - crowded public
highways in the County of Anoka crossing from east to west
and thus increase traffic safety and lessen the hazards of
traveling on the ever dangerous Highway #10.
