A RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT ON SEWER AND WATER PROJECT NO. 59
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY, MINNESOTA,
as follows:
1. The Council finds that the lowest responsible bidder for construc-
tion of the improvement work designated as:
SEWER AND WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #59
is Montgomery Construction Com.any, St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin,
whose bid is in the arount of *17,965.40 with comnletion time in
45 calendar days. That said bid is hereby accepted, and the City
Manager and Mayor in office on date of execution of the contract
are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with
said bidder for and in behalf of the City of Fridley.

WELLHOUSES NO. 3 AND NO. 5 ('MATER IMPROVE1,01T PROJECT NO. 34 -L )-
WHEREAS, the Resolution No. 69 -1960 of the City Council adopted the
7th day of June, 1960, set the date for hearing on the proposed improve -
ments, as specifically noted in the notice of hearing attached hereto
for reference as EXHIBIT "A", and
WHEREAS, all the property owners whose property is liable to be
assessed with the making of these improvements (as noted in said notice)
were given ten (10) days notice of the Council Hearing through two (2)
weekly publications of the required notice, and the hearing was held
and the pro ^erty owners heard thereon at the haring, as noted in said
notice.
NOW, THEREFORE:, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of Fridley,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. That the following improvements heretofore proposed by council.res-
olution (see Resolution No. 69 -1960, doted June 7, 1960) and ordered
to be effected and completed as soon as r asonable possible pursuant

to Resolution No. 76 -1960, dated June 21, 1960 and now partially
performed (See Resolution No. 7` -1960 dated June 21, 1960 and
Resolution No. 12 -1961, dated March 7, 1961 and others) are now
hereby further ordered to be effected and completed as soon as
reasonably possible, to -wit:
(a) Those improvements noted in the notice of hearing on
the same (in Exhibit "A" attached hereto for refer-
ence and incorporated herein) comprising the work
of the following, namely: Humping Equipment and
Appurtenances for Wellhouse No. 3 and No. 5 (and
work and materials incident thereto and a part
thereof as noted in the plans and specifications thereon)
and Lighting protection to be provided on Well No. 4
which work and portion of said improvement is hereby
designated as Water Improvement Project No. 34-L•
2. The plans and specifications prepared by Comstock and Davis, Inc.,
Consulting Engineers, for such improvement and each of them pur-
suant to the Council resolutions, heretofore adopted, a copy of
which plans and specifications are hereto attached and made a
part hereof, are hereby approved and shall be filed with the City
Clerk.
3. The work to be performed and the material to be furnished under
said improvements and the respective schedules thereof, shall. be
performed under one or more contracts as the Council shall deter-
mine upon receipt of bids.
The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted
in the official newspaper, and such other newspaper or trade paper as
required by law, advertisements for bids, upon the making of such improve-
ments under such approved plans and specifications. The Advertisement
shall be published for a neriod of at least 10 days, and shall specify the
work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered
at 12:00 o'clock, Noon, on the 5th day of November, 1962, in the Council
Chambers of the City Hall: and that nobids will be considered unless
sealed and filed with the City Clerk, and accompanied by a cash deposit,
bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five percent (5)
of the amount of such bid. That the advertisement for bids for such
part of ?dater Improvement Project. No. 34 -L shall be substantially in
form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and made
a part hereof.

NOTICE OF IUARING ON IMPROVEMENTS
Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Fridley,
will meet at the City :call in said City on the 3rd day of October, 1961,
at 8:00 P.14., to hear and pass upon all objections, if any, to the
proposed assessments in respect to the following improvement, to -wit:
WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 34
The proposed assessment roll for each of said improvements is now
on file and open to public inspection by all persons interested in the
office of the Clerk of the said City.

At said hearing, the Council will consider written or oral objec-
tions to the proposed assessments for each of said improvements.
The general nature of the improvements and each of them is the
construction of sanitary sewer mains and connecting lines and water
mains and connection lines in the lands and streets designated in
manner as follows:
Various streets located throughout the City of Fridley.
The area proposed to be assessed for said improvements and each of
them is all that land benefited by said improvements or each of them
and lying within the area bounded by the following lines:
All that area located within the City of Fridley and lying North
of the center line of Rice Creek and East of the Northern Pacific
Railway Right -of -Way.
Said improvements will be assessed against the properties within
the above noted areas in whole or in part proportionately to each of the
lands therein contained according to the benefits received. The total
cost of the improvement is estimated to be 42,084,000.00.

EXHIBIT "B" NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Sealed bids will be received, publicly opened and considered by the
City Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka Uounty, Minnesota at the office
of the City Manager in said City on the 5th day of November, 1962, at
12:00 o'clock Noon for the furnishing of work and materials for the
construction of Municipal Pumping Installation for Well No. 3 and ?dell
No. 5.
The project consists of the following approximate work:
Schedule A: Furnish and install Turbine Pump with right angle drive,
pump base, interior and exterior piping, Furnish and install
Submersible Pomp, including all necessary electrical equip -
ment, wiring, appurtenances and incidentals for both pumps.
SCHEDULE B: Furnish and install Naturally Aspirated Gas Engine, Engine
Base, gas piping, floor slat; in existing building, with all
appurtenances and incidentals.
SCHEDULE C: Contractor's option for bidding the combination of Sched-
ules A and B.
All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City
of Fridley, Minnesota, by Llomstock and Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers

Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City
Manager, and copies may be obtained for tle Contractor's individual use
by applying to the Engineers and depositing with the Engineers '25.00
for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each biider submitting
a bonafide bid upon return of the documents in good condition within '
ten (10) days from the date of opening bids.
Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and
accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank
in the State of Minnesota), or a bidder's bond and made payable without
condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota, in an amount of the bid.
The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive
any informalities in anv bid received without explanation.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty days.
