RESOLUTION NO. 216 -1964
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND
ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR WATER AJ%TD SEWER.
PIS JECT NO. 70
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 210 -1964, passed by the
City Council of the City of Fridley on the 5th day of October,
1964, Comstock and Davis, Inc., the Consulting Engineers, retained
for the purpose, have prepared plans and specifications for the
Water and Sewer Project No. 70.
The general nature of the improvements is the construction (in
the lands and streets noted below) of the following improvements,
to -wit:

A, '. ;ater Lateral and Service Connections and Sanitary Sewer Lateral
and Service Connections located in all of the streets and serving
all of the area described as:
1) Lincoln Street as proposed from Ironton Street to Ely Street.
2) 5th Street from Highway #100 South to existing utilities.
3) Riverview Terrace from 63� Way to Mississippi Place.
4) Innsbruck 5th Addition (as Alternate)
B. Water Lateral and Service Connections located in the following
street and serving all of the area described as:
1) Stinson Boulevard from Gardena South to South edge of Lot 44,
Auditor's Subdivision No. 92.
C. Sanitary Sewer and Service Connections located in the following
street and serving all of the area described as:
1) Ironton Street from East edge of Herwall Addition to Proposed
Lincoln Street.
AND WHEREAS, the final plans and specifications have now been pre-
sented to the Council for approval,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Fridley, Minnesota:
1. That the plans and specifications on Water and Sewer No. 70,
copies of which are attached hereto and made apart hereof, are hereby
approved.
2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the
official paper and in The Construction Bulletin an advertisement for bids
upon making of such improvement under such approved plans and specifica-
tions. 'The advertisement shall be published for ten (10) days, shall
specify the work done, shall state that bids will be opened at 12:00
o'clock Noon, and considered by the Council at 8:00 o'clock P.M., on
October 19, 1964, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that
no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the Clerk_ and
accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified
check payable to the Clerk for five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

SANITARY SEWER & WATER. IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 70
Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of
' Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Mana-
ger, on the 19th day of October, 1964 at 12:00 Noon, and will be
considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley, at a regu-
lar Council Meeting, at 8:00 r.M. on the 19th day of October for
the furnishing of work and materials for the installation of Sani-
tary Sewer and hater Improvement Project No. 70.
The project consists of the following:
Approximately 8,000 Lin. Ft. 6" to 8t1 Sanitary Sewer
and 1" to 6" Watermain and necessary appurtenances
All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the
City of Fridley, Minnesota, by Comstock and Davis, Inc., Consulting
Engineers, 1446 County Road "J ", Minneapolis, Minnesota 55432,
Telephone: Sunset 4 -9346•
Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City
Manager, and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual
use by applying to the Engineers and depositing with the engineers
$20.00 for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder
submitting a bonafide bid upon return of the documents in good condi-
tion within ten (10) days from the date of opening bids and to non -
bicders upon return of the documents in good condition prior to the
bid opening.
Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and
accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible
bank in the State of Minnesota), or a. bidder's bond and made payable
without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota, in an amount of
not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and
to waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
