RESOLUTION NO. 41 -1964
A RESOLUTION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR ONE RADAR UNIT
BE IT RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of Fridley as follows:
1. That it is in the interest of the City to purchase the following
items or materials:
ONE RADAR UNIT
2. A copy of the plans and specifications for the above described
items and materials, together with a proposal for the method
of purchase and the payment thereof have been presented to the
Council by the City Manager and the same are hereby approved
and adopted as the plans and specifications, and the method of
acquisition and payment to be required by the City with respect
to the acquisition of said items and materials.
3. The purchase of said items and materials as described above -
shall be effected by sealed bids to be received and opened'
at 12:00 o'clock noon on the 16th day of March, 1964.
The City Manager is directed and authorized to advertise for
the purchase of said items and materials by sealed bid proposals
under notice as provided by law and the Charter of the City of
Fridley, the notice to be substantially in form as that shown
by Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part of by reference.
Said notice shall be published at least 15 days or through two
(2) publications in the official newspaper of the City of Fridley.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 2ND DAY OF MARCH, 1964, BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY.

NOTICE TO BID
RADAR UNIT
The City Council of the City of Fridley will accept bids on one Radar Unit
on the 16th day of March, 1964, until 12:00 o'clock noon on said date.
All bids must meet the minimum requirements of the specifications. Failure
to comply with this section can result in disqualification of the bid.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in an amount
of not less than 5% of the bid, which check or bond shall be forfeited
if the bidder neglects or refuses to enter into a contract, or to furnish
a 100% performance bond after his bid has beenaccepted.
The City reserves the right to accept the bid which is determined to be
in the best interest of the City. The City reserves the right to reject
any and all bids, and waive all informalities or technicalities in any bid.
The City Council also reserves the right to consider such-factors -as- time o#-
delivery or -per formanee,-expertence:.and responsibility"of thee�biddet,' -past
performance of similar types of ttem or'. material ;- avatlability�of'xeplacement
parts, and other similar factors that it may determine in the best interest
of the City.
Copies of the specifications and general conditions may-be examined in the
office of the City Manager, or copies may be obtained from his office.
All bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes and plainly marked on the
outside that the contents is a "bid on a Radar Unit.

RADAR SPECIFICATIONS
CONTROL UNIT
Transistorized. Protected against-reversed battery
polarity and power surges. Power cable to be adapted
'
for cigarette lighter use.
POWER REQUIREMENTS:
12 Volts D.C. Must operate accurately if supply fluctuates
up to 18 Volts.
ACCURACY
Accurately time vehicles throughout speed range of
0 to 100 M.P.H., within minus 2 M.P.H. to 0 M.P.H.
OPERATING FREQUENCY
Must comply to F.C.C. Regulations.
OPERATING RANGE
Must be able to time passenger vehicles up to 1000
feet or more.
ANTENNA.
Parabolic Antenna, not to exceed 8" in diameter.
Equipped for either side window mount, or rear ledge
mount. .
GUARANTEE
Unit must be unconditionally guaranteed for a period of
at least 2,000 hours, or one year from date of delivery,
whichever occurs first, provided no part has been
dismantled or tampered with.
DEMONSTRATION
Each bidder will arrange for a demonstration of their
unit, sometime between the date of the announcement
calling for bids and the final date for submitting
bids.
