RESOLUTION NO. 48 -1964
RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS - CITY OF FRIDLEY - PROJECT S.S. 5 -A
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution passed by the City Council of the City
of Fridley on the 21st day of June, 1960, Comstock & Davis, Inc., the Consulting
Engineers retained for the purpose, have prepared plans and specifications for
the improvement by a storm sewer for that property lying within the City of
Fridley and contained within the following area:
Commencing at the intersection of the westerly right of
way of the Northern Pacific Ry. & Great Northern Ry. and
Trunk Highway 694 (formerly Highway 100); thence east along
Trunk Highway 694 to its intersection with Trunk Highway 65;
thence north along Trunk Highway 65- to its intersection
with the south entrance of West Moore Lake Drive; thence
along West Moore Lake Drive and Quincy Street to 61st
Avenue N.E.; thence westerly along 61st Avenue N.E. to
its intersection with 6th Street N.E.; -%ence North on
6th Street N.E. to 63rd Avenue N.E.; thence west on 63rd
Avenue N.E. to 5th Street N.E. extended; thence north on
5th Street extended and 5th Street to its intersection -
with Mississippi Street; thence west on.Mississippi Street
to the west right of way line of the Northern Pacific Ry. &
the Great Northern Ry.; thence southerly along said right ,
of way line of said railways to the point of beginning.
AND WHEREAS, the original plans have been presented to the Council and
have from time to time been revised, and revised final plans and specifications
have now been presented to the Council for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY,
MINNESOTA:
1. Such revised plans and specifications, a copy of which are attached
hereto and made a part hereof, are hereby approved.
2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official
paper and in The Construction Bulletin an advertisement for bids upon the making
of such improvement under such approved, revised plans and specifications. The
advertisement shall be published for ten (10) days, shall specify the work to
be done, shall state that bids will be opened and considered by the Council at 8:00
O'clock P.M., on April 13, 1964, in the Council chambers of the City Hall, and
that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the Clerk and
accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check
payable to the Clerk for five (5%) per cent of the amount of such bid.

NOTICE OF HEARING ON IMPROVEMENT
CITY OF FRIDLEY - PROJECT S.S. 5 -A
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
NOTICE IS-HEREBY GIVEN that. the Council of the City of Fridley will.meet
' at Hayes School located at 615 Mississippi Street N.E., in the City of Fridley
at 8:00 o'clock P.M., on the 13th day of April, 1964, to consider the making
of the following improvement:
Storm Sewer Project,54, for an area bounded as follows
Commencing at the intersection of the westerly
right of way of the Northern Pacific Ry. &
Great Northern Ry. and Trunk Highway 694

Trunk Highway 694 to its intersection with
Trunk Highway 65; thence north along Trunk
Highway 65 to its intersection with the south

pursuant to M.S.A. Sections 429.011 to 429.111.
The area proposed to be assessed for such improvement for all or a
portion of the cost of the improvement is the property contained within
the area above described. The estimated cost of such improvement is
$315,000.00. Such persons as desire to be heard e;cth reference-to the sj:
proposed improvement will be heard at this meeting.

Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley,
Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, on the 13th
day of April, 1964 at 12 :00 Noon, and will be considered by the City
Council of the City of Fridley, at a regular Council Meeting, at 8 :00
P.M. on the 20th day of April, for the furnishing of work and materials
for the installation of.Storm Sewer Improvement Project No. 5A. '
The project consists of the following:
Approximately 7,700 lineal feet of 72" to 12" storm
sewers with manholes, catchbasins, inlet structures,
and related appurtenances. I -
All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared -for the City of
Fridley, Minnesota, by Comstock & Davis, Inc., Consulting Englneers, 1446
County Road "J ", Minneapolis 32, Minnesota, Telephone: Sunset 4 -9346.
Plans and specifications may be examined at the office.of the City Manager,
and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying
to the Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $30.00 for each set.
The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon
return of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the date
of opening bids and to non - bidders upon return of the documents in good
condition prior to the bid - opening.
Bids must be made on. the basis of cash payment for the work, and accompanied
by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of
Minnesota), or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the
City of Fridley, Minnesota, in an amount of not less than 5% of the total
amount of the bid.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive
any informalities in any bids received without explanation.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
