RESOLUTION NO. 62 -1965
RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE SINCERE APPRECIATION TO ALL CITY EMPLOYEES
FOR THE SERVICE PUT FORTH DURING THE FLOOD AND HIGH WATF -R.
WHEREAS, part of the City of Fridley has recently been inundated by
flood end high water causing considerable damage and endangering the
lives of citizens, and
WHEREAS, the City employees spent a great deal of time and effort
extending over a period of more than one week, and
WHEREAS, much of the time and effort expended by the City employees
as well as others was free time and freely volunteered by them in addi-
tion to man;;, hours of overtime and regular time, and
WHEREAS, City employees risked their own lives and limbs in some
instances to effect the rescue of persons and properties without pre-
cise directions to do so, and
WHEREAS, the actions of the City employees relieved some of the
suffering and distress which otherwise would have been afflicted on
the citizens,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY C,;UNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRIDLEY AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Council of the City of Fridley expresses their sincere
appreciation to all City employees for their services put forth
during the period of flood and high water.
