RESOLUTION NO. 125 - 1966
A RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT, APPROVAL OF PIANS AND
ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS: STREET IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT ST. 1966 -2
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 193 -1965 adopted by the City Council on the
1st day of November, 1965, and Resolution No. 94 -1966 adopted by the City
Council on the 20th day of June, 1966, set the date for hearing on the pro-
posed improvements, as specifically noted in the Notice of Hearing attached
hereto for reference as EXHIBIT "A ", and -
WHEREAS, ALL PROPERTY OWNERS whose property is liable.to be assessed
with the making of the improvements (as noted in said Notice) were given ten '
(10) days notice by mail and published notice of the Council hearing through
two (2) weekly publications of the required notice, and the hearing was held
and the property owners heard thereon at the hearing, as noted in said notice.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley,
Anoka County, Minnesota, as follows:

That the following improvements proposed by Council Resolution
No. 193 -1965 are hereby ordered to be effected and completed as
anon as reasonably possible, to -wit:
a. The improvements as noted under the Construction Item A
In the Notice of Hearing (in Exhibit "A") for the follow -
ing streets:
West Moore Lake Drives
(State Aid No. 302)
Rice Creek Road:
(State Aid No. 302)
Baker Avenue to -T.H. #65
T.H. #65 to Old Central
That the following improvements- proposed by Council Resolution
No. 94-1966 are hereby ordered to be effected and completed as
soon as reasonably possible, to -wit:
Sidewalks on both sides of the street, including grading, base
and concrete slab, located as follows:
a. 61st Avenue:

That the work involved in said improvements as listed above
shall hereafter be designated as:
STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST. 1966 -2-
3. The plans and specifications prepared by the City Engineer for '
such improvements and each of them pursuant to the Council
resolutions heretofore adopted, a copy of which plans and speci-
fications are hereto attached and made a part hereof, are hereby
approved and shall be filed with the City Clerk.
The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in
the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improve-
ments under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall
be published for three (3) weeks (at least 21 days), and shall specify the
work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at
12:00 o'clock (noon) on the 19th day of Sentember, 1966, in the Council Chambers
of the City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed
with the City Clerk, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified
check payable to the City for five per cent (5 %0 of the amount of such bid.

That the advertisement for bids for Street Improvement Project DT. 1966 -2
shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto
for reference and made a part hereof. _

NOTICE TO BIDDERS
EXHIBIT "B"
Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley,
Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, 6431 University
Avenue Northeast, Fridley, Minnesota, 55421 (Tel, 56o- 3450), on the 19th
day of September, 1966, at 12:00 Noon, and will be considered by the City
Council of the City of Fridley, at a regular Council Meeting, at 8:00 P.M.
on the 19th day of September, 1966, for the furnishing of work and materials
for Municipal State Aid Project ST. 1966 -2
The street project is about one half (3!�) mile long and the sidewalk construc-
tion is about two (2) miles long and consists of the following principal
items of work and approximate quantities.

All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared by Nasim Qureshi,
P.F,., City Engineer, Fridley City Hall, 6431 University Avenue Northeast,
Fridley, Minnesota 55421 (Tel. 560 - 3450).
Plans and specifications may be examined at the Office of the City Manager,
and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying to
the City Engineer and depositing with the City Engineer n15.00 for each set.
The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bona£ide bid upon
return of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the bid
opening date.
Bids must be made on,the basis of cash payment for work, and accompanied by a
cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota),
or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the City of Fridley,
Minnesota, in an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive
any informalities in any bids received without explanation.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
