RESOLUTION N0. 99 - 1966
A RESOLUTION REGARDING THE LOCATION OF FRIDLEY CITY MALL
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Cibuncil of the City of Fridley, Anoka
County, Minnesota as follows:
WHEREAS, the Fridley City Council by a unanimous decision has
employed an architect to prepare site plans and working drawings
for the construction of a new City Hall at the entrance to Locke
Park, reserving the final decision until detail plans are available,
and
WHEREAS, the Fridley City Council has by a unanimous decision
obligated the City to pay up to $28,000.00 in architect's fees for
preparation of such plans and specifications; and
WHEREAS, it was the unanimous opinion of the Fridley City
Council that it was in the best interest of the City of Fridley
to relocate said City Hall at the Locke Park location; and
WHEREAS, -the Fridley City Council has received certain
expressions of opinion regarding the merits of the present site
and the Lock Park site; and
WHEREAS, there are advantages and disadvantages to both the
existing site and the Lock Park site. It is the opinion of the
Council that it is in the best interest of the City, both now and
in the future, to relocate the City Hall at the entrance to Locke
Park;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Fridley City Council
has proceeded to develop plans for the construction of the City
Hall at the entrance to Locke Park; reserving, however, its final
decision as to the site of the new City Hall until it is in
possession of detailed construction costs which are available only
after bids have been obtained.
Be it further resolved that the Council shall maintain the
Fire, Police, and Public Works Departments at the existing site
until such time as the City receives a favorable bid for the
p,:rchase of sair? site. Upon obtaining said favorable bid, the
decision as to the relocation of said Fire, Police, and Public
Works Departments shall be made and the site or sites selected
based on the best information before the Council at that time.

OF JULY, 1966.
