The City Munager pointed out this insurance adde up to $24,016 Which is
about $2,084 morQ than the cost of iasuraace in 1966, but it was felt this
was a better deal because of replacement vulue and boiler and machinery
insurance. Couacilman Harrie asked if the Iasuraace Comanittee has saaa e
copy of this, The City Manager said that the Chairmaa has a copy.
MOTIOTT by Councilman Hurrfs to receive this commuaicatioa from Bechmaa-
Andersoa and refer it to the xasurunce Commaittee for a lettex of comtoeat.
The City Manager said thae the Insurance Coma►i.ttee wauld be happy to meet

of the electorate, to decide to have mwnicipal off-sale aad private on-sale.

coverage on a competitive bid basis.

Traffic Control Signal at T.H. 65 and 53rd Avenue N.E.
Proposed Signal Agreement
Gentlemen:
� In the near future the NLinnesota Highway Department intends to
let a contract to install a traffic control signal system at
the above referenced location. Plans are in the design stage
' and are nearly complete. The purpose of this letter is to in—
form you of cost splits and maintenance responsibilities that
will necessarily be incorporated in cooperative agreements.
The agreements when written will have to be executed by all in—
' volved parties. In this case, the City of Fridley, the City of
Columbia Heights and the State.

Policy dictates that assigned percentage of construction costs
be based on a prorated system gove�ned by the n�ber of legs
entering an intersection under county or municipal jurisdiction
to the total number of legs entering. In other words Fridley
would be responsible for 37.5� of the total construction costs,
Columbia Heights for 12.5� and the remaining 50� the responsi—
bility of the State. Total construction costs is estimated at
�30,000. It will be necessary to pay an additional 6� of your
share for inspection and construction supervision done by State
forces.
Relamping, repainting and cleaning of the signal system and
maintenance of two mercury vapor lighting units to be installed
with the signal system will be the responsibility of Columbia
Heights.

� Cost of providing an electrical power supply and power costs for
both signals and lighting units will be the responsibility of

Traffic Control Signal at T.H. 65 and Osborne Road (CSAH 8)
Proposed Signal Agreement
Gentlemen:
In the near future the Nlinnesota Highway Department intends to
let a contract to install a traffic control signal system at the
above referenced location. Plans.are in the design stage and are
nearly complete. The purpose of this letter is to inform you of
cost splits and maintenance responsibilities that will necessarily
be incorporated in cooperative agreements. The agreements when
written will nave to be executed by all involved parties. In tYiis
case, Anoka County, the City oi Fridley, the Village of Spring
Lake Park and the State.
Policy dictate� that assigned percentage of construction costs
be ba.sed on a prorated system governed by the number of legs
� entering an intersection under county or municipal jurisdiction
to the total number of legs entering. In other words, Anoka
County would be responsible for 50� of the total construction
costs and the rema.ining 50� the responsibility of the State.
Total construction is estimated at $30,000. It will. be neces-
sary to pay an additional 6� of your share for inspection and
construction supervision done by State forces.
Relamping, repainting and cleaning of the signal system and main-
tenance of two mercury vapor lighting units to be installed with
the signal system will be the responsibility of Fridley. Cost of
providing an electrical power supp�y and power costs for both

mately .68 per_month per employee more. The plan presently covers 90 employees.

BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley,
Anoka County, Minnesota ss folloNS:
WHEREAS, at the present time, the City of Fridley is within
four separate school districts•; and
WHEREAS, many orgAnizations and individuals within the Cit y
have expressed a desire to have seid school district boundaries
re-alined so �s to coincide Nith the munieipal boundariea of the
C ity; �►nd ,
WHEREAS, the Council is of the opinion that this would be
beneficiRl to the City and the citizens.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Couneil u�ges -

THE ANOKA COUNTY ICE ARENA. �
'BE IT RESOLVED, by the Councii of the City of Fridley,
AnokA County, Minnesota as folloWS:
WHEREAS, the Anoka County Commissioners have determihed e
need for an AnokA County ice arena; And

WHEREAS, the Commissioners heve determined th�t Fridley
Nould be an ideal locetion within Anok� County for safd ice erens; and
WHEREAS, they have requested the Fridiey City Councii to
assist in securing a location for said arena; and
� WHEREAS, the Fridley City Council desires that said ice
erena be (ocAted Nithin the City of Fridley.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the County Commissio�ers
request be forNarded to the Fridley PArks and RecrePtion Commission
for their recommendations regarding a suitable site.
