RESOLUTION NO. 202 -1967
A RESOLUTION REGARDING BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATION
BY NORTHERN STATES POWER COMPANY FOR CONSTRUCTION
OF A 345 K.v. TRANSMISSION LINE.
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka
County, Minnesota, as follows:
WHEREAS, the Northern States Power Company has made application
to the City of Fridley for a building permit for the construction of
a 345 K.v. double circuit transmission line in the City of Fridley,
the location of which is shown on the attached Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, Northern States Power Company presently has a 115
K.v. transmission line now located along the service road on the East
side of University Avenue between 5 7th Avenue and 69th Avenue which
in the opinion of the Fridley City Council is esthetically incompatible
with the surrounding areas; and
WHEREAS, the Northern States Power Company has agreed to relocate
said 115 K.v. transmission line; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley agrees to issue said building
permit contingent upon the following conditions:

I. That said transmission line shall be supported by
frame towers, as shown on the attached Exhibit C, beginning at the
intersection of the Minnes:ta Transfer Railway Company right of way
and the Eastern boundary of the City of Fridley and continuing
along the right of way of the Minnesota Transfer Railway Company
right of way to the Moore Lake sub- station.
That said transmission line shall be supported by steel poles,
as shown on the attached Exhibit D.from the Moore Lake Sub- station
Westerly along the right of way of Minnesota Transfer Railway Company
to its intersection with University Avenue thence extended in a
Westerly direction to the intersection of the right of way line of
Northern Pacific Railway Company.
Said transmission line shall be supported by said frame
towers from the intersection of the East West position of said trans
mission line with the right of way of Northern Pacific Railway
Company thence Northwesterly along the right of way of the Northern
Pacific Railway Company to its intersection with the Northern
boundary of the City of Fridley.
All of which locations are as noted in Exhibit 6 attached
hereto and made a part hereof.

2. That Northern States Power Company will on or before
February 15, 1970, relocate that portion of the 115 K.v. transmission
line now located along the service road on the East side of University
Avenue between 57th Avenue and 69th Avenue in the City of 'Fridley to
the right of way of the Northern Pacific.Railway Company which is
approximately 5 blocks West of University Avenue, or to some other
location acceptable to the Fridley City Council.
3. That in accordance with this agreement, Northern States
Power Company agrees to present detailed plans as to the relocation
of said 115 K.v. transmission line on or before January 1, 1969.
4. That the relocation of said 115 K. v. transmission line
shall be completed concurrently with the completion of said 345 K.v.
transmission line.
' N011 THEREFORE, it is agreed by and between the parties that
said building permit shall be issuzl subject to the above conditions.
Northern States Power Company shall coordinate its construction of
the 345 K.v. transmission line with all utilities operated by the
City of Fridley and Northern States Power Company shall assume all
responsibility of construction and inspection of said transmission
line, subject to such inspection as is normally made under the Fridley
City Ordinances.
