RESOLUTION NO. 63 -1967
RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENTS, APPROVAL OF PLANS AND ORDERING
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS: WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 7#83
WHEREAS, pursuant to a Resolution #62 -1967 of the City Council,
adopted on March 20, 1967, Comstock and Davis, Incorporated, Consulting
Engineers, has prepared plans and specifications for all the improve-
ments proposed by Resolution #121 -1966 and has presented such plans and
specifications to the Council for approval:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of
Fridley, Minnesota, as follows:
1. That the following improvements heretofore proposed
by the Council resolution are hereby ordered to be
effected and completed as soon as reasonably possible
to -wit:
(a) All of the improvements and modifications of the
12 Million Gallon Water Storage Tank as proposed
in the preliminary report.
That the work imvolved in such improvement as listed
above shall hereafter be designated as Water Improvement
Project 7#83.
2. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which are
attached hereto and made a part hereof, are hereby
approved.
3. The work to be performed under Water Improvement Project #83
shall be performed under one contract.
' The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be
inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the
making of such improvements under such approved plans and specifica-
tions. The advertisement shall be published for two (2) weeks (at
least 10 days), and shall specify the work to be done and will state
that bids will be opened and considered at 12:00 o'clock (noon), on
the 10t' day.of April, 19.67 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall,
and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed
with the City Clerk, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or
certified check payable to the City for five per cent (5 %) e_" the
amount of such a bid. That the advertisement for bids for 'dater
Improvement Project #83 shall be substantially in -form as that noted
in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of
Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City
Manager, on the 10th day of April, 1967 at 12:00 o'clock Noon,
and will be considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley
at a regular Council Meeting at 8:00 P.M. on the 10th day of
April, 1967, for the furnishing of work and materials for Water
Improvement Project No. 83.
The Project consists of the following:
Repairs and painting of the existing 1.5 MG Water Reservoir at
53rd Avenue N.E. and Johnson street.
All in accordance with specifications prepared for the City of
Fridley, Minnesota by Comstock and Davis, Inc., Consulting
Engineers, 1446 County Road J, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55432,
Telephone 784 -9346.
Specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager,
and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use
by applying to the Engineers and depositing $10.00 with the
Engineers for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each
bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon return of the documents
in good condition within ten (10) days from the date of opening
bids, and to non - bidders upon return of the documents in good
condition prior to the bid opening.
' Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and
accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible
bank in the State of Minnesota), or a bidder's bond, and made
payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota in
an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids
and to waive any informalities in any bids received without
explanation.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
