RESOLUTION NO. 93 - 1967 .
A RESOLUTION REGARDING STREET RAILROAD GRADE CROSSINGS
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka
County, Minnesota, as follo:as:
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley is a City of the second class in
Anoka County, Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, the population of the City has increased from approxi-
mately 3700 in 1950 to 27,000 in 1967; and
WHEREAS, there is within the City of Fridley a main track rail-
road line belonging to the Great Northern Railway Company and the
Northern Pacific Company; and
WHEREAS, because of the increase in population and land use,
it is now necessary to have additional grade crossings over said
railroad lines; and
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Railroad and Warehouse Commission is
empowered to establish highway grade crossings.
NON, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Fridley City Council
hereby petitions the Minnesota Railroad and Warehouse Commission to
hold a public hearing to consider testimony and other evidence rel-
ative to a highway railroad grade crossing at 61st Avenue Northeast
and the above described railway line.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED'; that the Fridley City Council request
a similar hearing regarding a highway railroad grade crossing at 73rd
Avenue Northeast and said railway line.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Fridley City Council request
a similar hearing regarding a highway railroad grade crossing at 79th
Avenue Northeast and said railway line.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Fridley City Council request
a similar hearing regarding a highway railroad grade crossing at 83rd
Avenue Northeast.
