RESOLUTION NO. 199 -1968

A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka
County, Minnesota, as follows:
WHEREAS, the Fridley City Council recognizes that there are
metropolitan problems that transcend municipal boundaries, and that
the Metropolitan Council has been in existence a very short period
of time, and that there a•re many problems of overlapping responsibility
that have not been determined, and that there are methods of financing
that have not been resolved, and that specific areas of metropolitan
responsibility have not been defined.
NOVI THEREFORE, be it resolved, that the Fridley City Council
commends the Metropolitan Council for its objective and well- considered
approach to the problems of the metropolitan area.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED and strongly urged that the 1969
Minnesota Legislature continue the present structure and that an
additional two years be devoted to discussion and study of the structure
and functions of the Council before any far - reaching changes are made.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fridley City Council agrees
with, and urges acceptance of, the regional principles embodied in
the Metropolitan Council's sewer study.
