The City Council in session Monday, May 19, 1469 officially received a
letter fxom the Young Men's Christian Association af Metropolitan Minneapolis
under date of May 16,1969.
In correspondence referenced above the YMGA of Metrogolitaa Minneapolis advises
they have selected the West Moore Lake site in Fridley, Minnesota for a full facility
Family YMCA in the northeast suburbs of Mianeapoiis and requests donation of the land
from the City of Fridley.
Some of the land involved is owned by SchooL District 14 and coordination with
the school is currently being effected concerning availability of this land.
The Fridley City Attorney will render a legal opinion on the legality of the
City donating or selling the Land to the YMCA. The City Councii in session
authorized the submission of this letter of intent of selling the pzoper[y under
the Eollowing conditions, providing such sale is determined to be legal.

The City owned property, excluding street, and described as the "West Moore
Lake Site", to Ue conveyed to the YMCA of Metropolitan Minneapolis for $1.00
and other good and valuable consideration.
The YiICA to erect a full-facility family YMCA on the site, and if
constrnction has not begun on or 6efore three years from the date the
land is conveyed to the YMCA, the property to revert to the City of Fridley.
Further that if a YMCA is erected and at any time such building is not used
for YMCA purposes, said building and grounds to revert to City of Fridley
ownership.

c. That provisions be made for joint YMCA- City oE Fridley use of some areas,
such as ample beach space, access to beach, and o[her areas mutually agreed
upon by the YMCA and the City of Fridley.
d. That the unused portion of City of Fridley 60th Avenue shall be submittied
to ordinance to be vacated and sold to the YMCA for $1.00 and other good
and valuable consideration, unless found suftable by YMCA and City for
retention as public access.
e. That ihe unused gortion of City of Fridley 61st Avenue shall'be submitted
to ordinance ta be vacated and sold to yMCA for $1.00 and other good and
valuable consideration; unless found suitable to YMCA and City for
retention as public access.
f. That the balance of property owned by the City will be submitted to
ordinance for sale to the YMCA for $1.00 and other good and valuable
consideration.
The above constitutes intent o£ the City of Fridley Council as concerns the
site known as "The West Moore Lake Site". A sketch of the area coacerned indicating
approximate acreages etc., is attached hereto as enclosure No. 1.
