RES07.IITION i/32-]969 - RSSOLUTION ON PROPOSED NEW b1ETROPOLITAN TAX PROGRAM
Councilman Liebl in referring to the Aesolution asked if Minnesota was
seventh in the Nation. The City Manager said that tha_ Assessor had checked
this and by some tables, we were fifth, Mayox Kirkham raised the question,
if the City should acknowledge that there are fiscal disparikies. Council-
man Samuelson said that if there is any fscal disparity, then why should
this not be done at the State level. The Czty Manager agreed, and wondered
why ust the seven county area, and not the whole state, or Nation. He
felt that this could conceivable cause an exodus of people, impede growth
and discourage further construction of new facilities in the seven counT.y
metropolitan complex.
Councilman Sheridan suggested passing the Resolution, but deleting:
'"while realizing fiscal disparities do exist".
MOTION by Councilman Sheridan to adopt Resolution 1132-1969 with the correction
as noted. Seconded by Cuncilman Liebl. Upon a voice vote, all voting aye,
