RESOLUTION NO. 114 -1969
RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR
BIDS: STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST, 1969 -3
WHEREAS, pursuant to a Resolution 113 -1969 of the City Council adopted
on 7th day of July, Nasim M. Qureshi, City Engineer has prepared plans and
specifications for some of the improvements proposed by Resolution 112 -1969
and has presented such plans and specifications to the Council for approval:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. That the plans and specifications covering the following improve-
ments heretofore proposed by the Council Resolution 112 -1969
are hereby received:
Street Improvements including grading, stabilized base, hot -
mix bituminous mat, boulevard work, water and sanitary sewer
lines modifications, water and sanitary sewer services, storm
sewer and other facilities located as follows:
Riverview Terrace: 79th Avenue to 120 feet North of Kimball Street
• Broad Avenue: Buffalo Street to Fairmont Street
79th Avenue: Riverview Terrace to Apex Lane
Buffalo Street: Riverview Terrace to Broad Avenue
Cheryl Street: Riverview Terrace to Broad Avenue
Dover Street: Riverview Terrace to Broad Avenue
Ely Street: Riverview Terrace to Broad Avenue
Fairmont Street: Riverview Terrace to 300 feet East
That the work involved in such improvement as listed above shall
hereafter be designated as STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST. 1969 -3.
2.• Such plans and specifications, a copy of which is attached hereto
and made a part hereof, are hereby approved.
3. The work to be performed under STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
ST. 1969 -3 shall be performed under one contract.
The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted
in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such
improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement
shall be published for one week (at least 10 days), and shall specify the work
to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at 11:30
a.m. on the 4th day of August, 1969 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall,
and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk,
and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the
City for five per cent (5 %) of the amount of such a bid. That the advertisement
for bids for STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST. 1969 -3 shall be substantially in
form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and made a part
hereof.
ADOPTED BY THE COUNCIL OF FRIDLEY THIS 7TH DAY OF
JULY 1969.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley,
Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, 6431 University
Avenue Northeast, Fridley, Minnesota 55421 (Tel. 560 -3450) on the 4th day
of August, 1969 at 11:30 A.M. and will be considered by the City Council
of the City of Fridley at a Regular Council Meeting at 8:00 P.M. on the
4th day of August, 1969 for the furnishing of work and materials for
STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST. 1969 -3
The street projects are about one and one half (115) miles long and consist
of the following principle items of work and approximate quantities:
2,100 Ton Bituminous Mix
3,800 Ton Class V Base
11,200 Cu. Yds. Common Excavation
All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared by Nasim M. -
Qureshi, P.E., City Engineer, Fridley City Hall, 6431 University Avenue
Northeast, Fridley, Minnesota 55421. Telephone 560 -3450.
Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager,
and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying
to the City Engineer and depositing with the City Engineer $25.00 for each
set of the two projects. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder sub-
mitting a bonafide bid upon return of the documents in good condition
within ten (10) days from the bid opening date.
Bids must be made on thetbasis of cash payment for work, and accompanied
by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of
Minnesota) or a bidder's bond made payable without condition to the City
of Fridley, Minnesota, in an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount
of the bid.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive
any informalities in any bids received without explanation.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
