RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR
BIDS: STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ST. 1969 -3
WHEREAS, pursuant to a Resolution -1969 of the City Council adopted
On 7th day- of July Nasim M. Qureshi, City Engineer has prepared plans and
specifications for some of the 'improvements proposed by Resolution 112, 1165
and has presented such plans and specifications to the Council for approval:
WHEREAS, the City Council awarded the Contract to Dunkley Surfacing Co,
and Dunkley Surfacing Company asked for higher costs than as provided in the
Contract and the City has not been able to negotiate a reasonably settlement with
the Contractor, and it is advisable to readvertise for bids to be fair to everybody,
WHEREAS, the City Council authorized the administration, at their meeting
of September 15, 1969, to readvertise for bids if the City cannot negotiate a
reasonable price with Dunkley Surfacing Company, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. That the plans and specifications covering the following improve-
ments heretofore proposed by the Council Resolution 112 -1969
are hereby received:
Street Improvements including grading, stabilized base, hot -
mix bituminous mat, boulevard work, water and sanitary sewer
lines modifications, water and sanitary sewer services, storm
sewer and other facilities located as follows:
Riverview Terrace: 79th Avenue to 120 feet North of Kimball Street
Broad Avenue:
Buffalo Street to
Fairmont Street
79th Avenue:
Riverview Terrace
to Apex Lane
Buffalo Street:
Riverview Terrace
to Broad Avenue
Cheryl Street:
Riverview Terrace
to Broad Avenue
Dover Street:

' 2. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which is attached hereto
and made a part hereof, are hereby approved.

3. The work to be performed under STREET IZTROVEI ENT PROJECT
ST. 1969 -3 shall be performed under one contract.

The City Manager.shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted
in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such
improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement
shall be published for one week (at least 10 days), and shall specify the work
to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at 11:30 A.M.
on the 6th day of October, 1969 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall,
and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk,
and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the
City for five.per cent (5%) of the amount of such a bid. That the advertisement
for bids for STREET IMPROVE14ENT PROJECT ST. 1969 -3 shall be substantially in
form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and made a part
hereof.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley,
Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, 6431 University Avenue
Northeast, Fridley, Minnesota 55421 (Tel. 560 -3450) on the 6th day of October, 1969
at 11:30 AM and will be considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley at a
regular Council Meeting at 8 :00 P.M. on the 6th day of October. 1969 for the
furnishing of work and materials for STREET' IMPROVK T PROJECT ST.1969 -3.
The street project is about one and one half (ILL miles long and consist
of the following principle items of work and approximate quantities:
1,400 Ton Bituminous Mix
3,300 Ton Class V Base
3,614 Cu. Yds. Common Excavation
1,370 Lin. Ft. 12" and 18" Storm Sewer Pipe
All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared by Nasim Qureshi,
P.E., City Engineer, Fridley City Hall, 6431 University Avenue Northeast, Fridley,
Minnesota 55421. Telephone: 560 -3450.
Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager,
and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying to the
City Engineer and depositing with the City Engineer 525.00 for each set of the
project. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid
upon return of the documents in good condition within seven (7) days from the bid
opening date.
Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for work, and accompanied by
a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota)
or a bidder's bond made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota,
in an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive
any informalities in any bids received without explanation.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
