RESOLUTION NO. 73 -1969
RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENTS, APPROVAL OF PLANS AND
ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS: WATER IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT NO. 94
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 414 authorized emergency repair of Well #2 in the
amount not to exceed Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00).
WHEREAS, to protect the revised facilities, there is need of a well house.'
WHEREAS, all this work is basically in the nature of remodeling and repairing.
WHEREAS, pursuant to a Resolution #54 -1969 of the City Council, adopted on
the 7th day of April, 1969, Comstock and Davis, Incorporated, Consulting Engineers,
has prepared plans and specifications for all the improvements proposed by Reso-
lution #54 -1969 and has presented such plans and speaLficattons to the Council
for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. That the following improvements heretofore proposed by Council
Resolution #54 -1969 are hereby ordered to be effected and com-
pleted as soon as reasonably possible, to -wit:
Construction of Well House and other facilities for Well #2.
That the work involved in such improvement as listed above
shall hereafter be designated as Water Improvement Project No. 94,
2. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which are attached
hereto and made a part hereof, are hereby approved.
3. The work to be performed under Water Improvement Project No. 94
shall be performed under one contract.
The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in
the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such
improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement
shall be published for two (2) weeks (at least 10 days), and shall specify
the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered
at 11 :30 o'clock A.M. on the 16th day of June, 1969 in the Council Chambers
of the City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and
filed with the City Clerk, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond,
or certified check payable to the City for five per cent (57) of the
amount of such a bid. That the advertisement for bids for Water Improvement
Project No. 94 shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B"
attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof.
ADOPTED BY THE COUNCIL OF FRIDLEY THIS STH DAY OF MAY , 1969.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley,
Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, on the 16th
day of June, 1969 at 11:30 A.M., and will be considered by the City Council
of the City of Fridley at a regular Council Meeting at 8:00 P.M. on the 16th
day of June, 1969, for the furnishing of work and materials for the in-
stallation of Water Improvement Project No. 94.
The project consists of the following:
Base Bid No. 1 - Concrete Masonry Well House for Well #2
Base Bid No. 2 - Concrete Masonry Well House for Well #2 Including
Park Storage and Shelter Facilities
All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City
of Fridley, Minnesota, by Comstock and Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers,
1446 County Road "J ", Minneapolis, Minnesota 55432, Telephone 784 -9346.
Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager,
and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by
applying to the Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $15.00
for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting
a bonafide. bid upon return of the documents in good condition within
ten (10) days from the date of opening bids, and to non - bidders upon
return of the documents in good condition prior to the bid opening.
Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and ac-
companied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in
the State of Minnesota), or a bidder's bond and made payable without
condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota in an amount of not less
than 5% of the total amount of the bid.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to
waive any informalities in any bids received without explanation.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
