RESOLUTION NO. 65 -1970
RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING ADVERTISE-
MENTS FOR BIDS: WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT PU #99
WHEREAS, Well #1 is in need of repair and the cost of repairing is
going to be over $5,000.00.
WHEREAS, all this work is in the nature of repair and modification of the
existing Well #1.
WHEREAS, Comstock €, Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, have prepared plans
and specifications for the above work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fridley
as follows:
1. The following improvement heretofore proposed is hereby ordered to be
effected and completed as soon as reasonably possible, to -wit:
Modification of existing pump plant for Well #1, including a new
turbine pump and replacing worn column and shaft.
That the work involved in such improvement as listed above shall
hereafter be designated as Water Improvement Project PU #99.
2. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which are attached hereto and
made a part hereof, are hereby approved.
3. The work to be performed under Water Improvement Project PU #99
shall be performed under one contract.
4. The cost of the work will be paid out of the Water Utility Fund.
The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the
official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improvements
under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be
published for two (2) weeks (at least 10 days), and shall specify the work to
be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at 1:30
o'clock P.M. on the 6th day of April, 1970 in the Council Chambers of the City
Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the
City Engineer, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check
payable to the City for five per cent (50) of the amount of such a bid. The
advertisement for bids for WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT PU #99 shall be substan-
tially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and
made a part hereof.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY THIS 16TH DAY OF MARCH, 1970.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka
County, Minnesota at the office of the City Manager, of the 6th day of April,
1970, at 1:30 P.M., and will be considered by the City Council of the City of
Fridley at a regular council meeting at 7:30 P.M. on the 6th day of April, 1970,
for the furnishing of work and materials for the installation of Water Improve-
ment Project #99.
The Project consists of the modification of existing pumping plant for Well #1
including a new turbine pump and replacing worn column and shaft.
All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of Fridley,
Minnesota, by Comstock $ Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 1446 County Road "J ",
Minneapolis, Minnesota SS432, Telephone 784 -9346.
Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager, and
copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying to the
Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $20.00 for each set. The deposit
will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon return of the
documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the date of opening bids,
and to non - bidders upon return of the documents in good condition prior to the
bid opening.
Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and accompanied by
a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota),
or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the City of Fridley,
Minnesota in an amount of not less than S% of the total amount of the bid.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any
informalities in any bids received without explanation.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
