RESOLUTION NO. 97 -1970
A RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENTS, APPROVAL OF PLANS AND
ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS: WATER PROJECT NO. 98
WHEREAS, pursuant to a Resolution #14 -1970 of the City Council, adopted
on the 2nd day of February, 1970, Comstock and Davis, Incorporated, Consulting
Engineers, has prepared plans and specifications for some of the improvements
proposed by Resolution #217 -1969 and has presented such plans and speci-
fications to the Council for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of Fridley,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. That the following improvements heretofore proposed by the Council
Resolution #217 -1969, are hereby ordered to be effected and com-
pleted as soon as reasonable possible to -wit:
Watermain and other appurtenances, on east side of East River
Road, starting from the southerly end of Outlot A, running along
Outlet I to Lot 1, Block 3, Great Northern Industrial Center.
That the work involved in such improvement as listed above shall
hereafter be designated as WATER PROJECT #98.
2. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which are attached hereto,
and made a part hereof, are hereby approved.
3. The work to be performed under Water Project #98 shall be performed
under one contract.
The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the
official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improve-
ments under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement
shall be published for two (2) weeks (at least 10 days), and shall specify
the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered
at 12:00 Noon on the 18th day of May, 1970 in the Council Chambers of the
City Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed
with the City Engineer, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or
certified check payable to the City for five per cent (So) of the amount
of such a bid. That the advertisement for bids for WATER PROJECT #98 shall
be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto
for reference and made a part hereof.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley,
Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, on the 18th
day of May, 1970 at 12:00 Noon, and will be considered by the City Council
of the City of Fridley at a regular Council Meeting at 8:00 P.M. on the
18th day of May, 1970 for the furnishing of work and materials for the
installation of Water Improvement Project #98.
The Project consists of the following:
1,350 L.F. 12" to 6" Watermain with Related Appurtenances
All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of
Fridley, Minnesota, by Comstock $ Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 1446
County Road "J ", Minneapolis, Minnesota 55432, Telephone 784 -9346.
Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager,
and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying
to the Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $17.50 for each set.
The deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid
upon return of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from
the date of opening bids, and to non - bidders upon return of the documents
in good condition prior to the bid opening.
Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and accom-
panied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the
State of Minnesota), or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition
to the City of Fridley, Minnesota in an amount of not less than 50 of
the total amount of the bid.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive
any informalities in any bids received without explanation.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
