to order at 5�08 P M
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was spoken by all
Roll Call was taken and those present t�!ere Mayor Pro Tem
Liebl, Counctlman 6rieder and Councilman Kelshava Those absent
were: Mayor Kirkham and Councilman Harris
Also present taere. Lester Schwa�°tz, County Assessor, Gerald
Davis, City P�anager, Marvin Qrunsel7, City Clerk, Mervin J Flerrn�ann,
City Assessor, Leon P1adsen, Chief Appra�ser and ldalter hiulcahy,
Appra�ser.
Lester Schwartz first expla�ned that the purpose of this meeting
is for 7971 new construction assessments and for 6usiness personal
properts� assessments
P�ayor Pro Tem Liebl then asked if there was anyone present s�ho
had a comp7aint to,make about these assessments
Harold 6elisle, 7801 Apex Lane, stated that there �s a high
water mark and a flood plain line running throuah his property and
that he e�ants this to be taken into consideratton in tVie assessment
of his home. Mervin Herrmann explained that special consideration
is given to those homes that are affected by the river. Mr Belisle
said he felt he was not being overtaxed now, however
Francis A. Van Dan, 6342 Baker Avenue N E, stated that he
thought his house was overvalued and that his 1971 tax is too high
Mr. Schwartz said that he could fi7e for an abatement through the
Anoka County Assessor's �ffice and he explained the abatement proce-
dures.
Winton Knapton, 6200 Carol Drive N E., asked if he was being
taxed for personal property in his home Mr Schwartz said no, that
they assess only bus�ness personal property
There being no further compla�nts, Councilman Kelshat�� made a
motion to close the neetrng Councilman Brieder seconded the motion
and tlie meetin� was ad�ourned at 8:40 P M
