RESOLUTION NO. 97 -1971
A RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS:
SANITARY SEWER, WATERMAINS AND STORM SEWER PROJECT #105
WHEREAS, pursuant to a Resolution #66 -1971 of the City Council,
adopted on the 21st day of June, 1971 and Resolution #96 -1971 of the
City Council adopted on the 9th day of August, 1971, Comstock and Davis,
Incorporated, Consulting Engineers, has prepared plans and specifications
for part of the improvements proposed by Resolution #66 -1971 and all of
the improvements proposed by Resolution #96 -1971 and has presented such
plans and specifications to the Council for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley,
Minnesota, as follows:.
1. That part of the improvements proposed by Council Resoltuion
#66 -1971 and all of the improvements proposed by Council Reso-
lution #96 -1971 shall hereinafter he designated as Sanitary
Sewer, Watermain and Storm Sewer Project #105, these proposed
improvements are as follows:
Sanitary Sewer, Watermains, Storm Sewers and Appurtenances;
A.. To serve all lots in the proposed Al Rose Addition including
all the lots on Riverview Terrace and Alden Way. .
B. To serve Outlot 1, Burlington Northern Industrial Center
2. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which are attached here-
to and made a part hereof, are hereby approved.
3. The work to be performed under Sanitary Sewer, Watermain and Storm
Sewer Project #105 shall be performed under one contract.
The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted
in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such
improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertise-
ment shall be published for two (2) weeks (at least 10 days) and shall
specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and
considered at 11:30 A.M. on the 30th day of August, 1971 in the Council
Chambers of the City Hall and that no bids will be considered unless sealed
and filed with the City Engineer, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid
bond, or certified check payable to the City for five per cent (5%) of the
amount of such a bid. That the advertisement for bids for Sanitary Sewer,
Watermain and Storm Sewer Project 0105 shall be substantially in form as
that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and made a part
hereof.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY THIS
9TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1971.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka
' County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, on the 30th day of
August, 1971 at 11:30 A.M., and will be considered by the City Council of the
City of Fridley at a regular Council Meeting at 7:30 P.M. on the 30th day of
August, 1971, for the furnishing of work and materials for the installation
of Sanitary Sewer, Water and Storm Sewer Improvement Project #105.
The Project consists of the following:
932 L.F. 6" Watermain with Related Appurtenances
523 L.F. Water Service Lines
1,790 L.F. 8" Sanitary Sewer with Manholes and Related Appurtenances
693 L.F. 6" Sanitary Sewer Service Lines
1,594 L.F. 12" to 27" Storm Sewer with Manholes, Catch Basins and
Related Appurtenances.
All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of Fridley,
Minnesota, by Comstock and Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 1446 County
Road J, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55432, Telephone: 784 -9346.
Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager,
and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying
to the Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $20.00 for each set. The
deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon
return of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the date
of opening bids, and to non - bidders upon return of the documents in good
condition prior to the bid opening.
Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and accompanied
by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of
Minnesota), or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the
City of Fridley, Minnesota in an amount of not less than 5% of the total
amount of the bid.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive
any informalities in any bids received without explanation.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
