RESOLUTION NO. 108 -1972
A RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT, APPROVAL OF PLANS AND ORDERING
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS: STORM SEWER PROJECT #102, ADDENDUM #2
WHEREAS, Resolution # 94_7971 adopted by the City Council on the
_.Ztlpf _August , 1972 set the date for hearing on the improvements, as
specifically noted in the Notice of Hearing attached hereto for reference as
Exhibit "A", and
WHEREAS, all property owners whose property is liable to be assessed with
the making of the improvements (as noted in said notice) were given ten (10)
days notice by mail and published notice of the Council hearing through two (2)
weekly publications of the required notice, and the hearing was held and the
property owners heard thereon at the hearing, as noted in said notice.
WHEREAS, Resolution # 107 -1972 adopted by the City Council of the City
of Fridley ordered all of these improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley,
Anoka County, Minnesota as follows: 4
1. That the following improvements proposed by Council Resolution
# 94 -1972 are hereby ordered to be effected and completed as
soon as reasonable possible, to -wit:
Storm sewer g drainage facilities for drainage tributary to ditches &
drainage basins located as follows:
For the area bounded by the outline starting at the intersection of
East River Road $ Osborne Road running north along East River Road to
intersection of 75th Way; thence running west along 75th Way 8 ex-
tended to the Mississippi River bank running northwest along Missis-
sippi River bank to a line extended along Pearson Way; thence running
east along the extended line of Pearson Way up to the intersection of
Pearson Way & Firwood Way; thence running northwest along Firwood Way
to 79th Way; thence running east along 79th Way to railroad tracks;
thence north along railroad tracks to 83rd Avenue; thence east along 83rd
Ave, to T.H. #47; thence south along T.H. #47 to Osborne Rd.; thence west
along Osborne Rd. to East River Road to the point of beginning.
That the work involved in said improvements as listed above shall
hereafter be designated as: STORM SEWER PROJECT #102, ADDENDUM #2.
2. The plans and specifications prepared by the City Engineer & the
City's Consulting Engineers, for such improvements and each of them,
pursuant to the Council resolutions heretofore adopted, a copy of which
plans $ specifications are hereto attached and made a part hereof,
are hereby approved and shall be filed with the City Clerk.

3. The work to be performed under STORM SEWER PROJECT #102, ADDENDUM
#2 shall be performed under one contract.
The City Engineer shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted
in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of
such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The
advertisement shall be published for three (3) weeks (at least 21 days)
and shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be
opened and considered at 11:30 A.M. on the 25th day of September, 1972 in
the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that no bids will be considered
unless sealed and filed with the City Engineer, and accompanied by a cash
deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five per
cent (50) of the amount of such bid. That the advertisement for bids
for STORM SEWER PROJECT #102, ADDENDUM #2, shall be substantially in form
as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and made a part
hereof.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley, Anoka
County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, on the 25th day of September
1972, at 11:30 a.m., and will be considered by the City Council of the City of
Fridley at a regular council meeting at 7:30 p.m. on the 25th day of September
1972, for the furnishing of Work and materials for the construction of part of
a Sanitary Sewer, Storm Sewer, and Watermain Improvement Project No. 102.
The Project consists of the following:
Furnish labor and equipment for construction of approximately 1,000
lineal feet of retaining wall (material furnished by City)
All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of Fridley
Minnesota, by Comstock & Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 1446 County Road "J ",
Minneapolis, Minnesota 55432, Telephone 784 -9346.
Plans and Specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager, and
copies may be obtained for the .Contractor's individual use by applying to the
Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $20..00 for each set. The deposit will
be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon return of the documents
in good condition within ten (10) days from the date of opening bids, and to non -
bidders upon return of the documents in good condition prior to the bid opening.
Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and accompanied by
a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota),
or a bidders bond and made payable without condition to the City of Fridley, Minnesota
in an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any
informalities in any bids received without explanation.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
