RESOLUTION NO. 156 - 1972
A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR SEWER CONNECTION CHARGES AND AMENDING
SEWER USE CHARGES
WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Sewer Board and Metropolitan Council
have adopted a Service Availability Charge as part of their 1973
budget, and
WHEREAS, The Service Availability Charge replaces the reserve capacity
charge in the 1973 sewer bill, and
WHEREAS, The Service Availability Charge Schedule per unit adopted
by the Metropolitan Sewer Board is as follows; and

WHEREAS, The Service Availability Charge shall be computed as follows:
a) Single family houses, townhouses and duplex units shall
each comprise one unit;
b) Condominiums and apartments shall each comprise 80% of a
unit;
c) Mobile homes shall each comprise 80% of a unit;
d) Other buildings and structures shall be assigned one unit
for each 100,000 gallons of flow which it is estimated
they will discharge and commercial and industrial building
units shall be assigned a minimum of one unit;
e) Public housing units and housing units subsidized under
any federal program for low and moderate income housing
shall be counted as 75% of the unit equivalent for that
type of housing.
f) Units existing or for which building permits were issued
prior to January 1, 1973, shall be counted as one -half the
unit equivalent for that type of housing, if connected to
the Metropolitan Disposal System prior to January 1, 1974,
and shall be counted at the full rate thereafter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of Fridley,
Minnesota that:
1. That effective January 1, 1973 the City of Fridley hereby
places into effect the following Service Availability Charge.

2. The Service Availability charge shall be computed as '
follows:
a) Single family houses, townhouses and duplex units
shall each comprise one unit;
b) Condominiums and apartments shall each comprise 80%
of a unit;
c) Mobile homes shall each comprise 80% of a unit;
d) Other buildinqs and structures shall be assigned
one unit for each 100,000 gallons of flow which
it is estimated they will discharge and commercial
and industrial building units shall be assigned a
minimum of one unit;
e) Public housing units and housing units subsidized

income housing shall•be counted as 75% of the unit
equivalent for that type of housing
f) Units existing or for which building permits are
issued prior to January 1, 1973 shall pay a $150.00
per unit if connected to the Metropolitan Disposal
System prior to January 1, 1974 and shall be counted
at the full rate thereafter.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That effective January 1, 1973 the following
sewer use rate schedule will be in effect:
a) Single family dwellings $12.00 per quarter
(Including townhouses and
condominiums)
b) Multiple dwellings, trailer $10.00 per unit
courts and motels
c) Commercial & Industrial
0 - 15,000 Gallons $15.00 per quarter
15,000 - 50,000 Gallons $.97/1000 Gal. Winter Water Usage
50,000 - 150,000 Gallons $.86/1000 Gal. Winter Water Usage
150,000 - 300,000 Gallons $.75/1000 Gal. Winter Water Usage
300,000 - 500,000 Gallons $.68/1000 Gal. Winter !dater Usage
Over 500,000 Gallons $.62/1000 Gal. Winter Water Usage
