RESOLUTION NO. 64 - 1972
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A MULTI EMPLOYER BARGAINING APPROACH FOR
PUBLIC WORKS AND PARK EMPLOYEES (INTERNATIONAL UNION OF OPERATING
ENGINEERS, LOCAL NO. 49) FOR THE 1973 AND ENSUING CONTRACT YEARS
WHEREAS, It is the intention of the Council of the City of
Fridley to compensate its employees at the same rate as employees
in surrounding communities for comparable positions, and
WHEREAS, The position of heavy equipment operator, light
equipment operator, and similar benchmark positions are similar in
nature from one community to another in the Twin City metropolitan
area, and
WHEREAS, It has been the policy and practice for the past
several years for the City of Fridley to participate in joint
negotiations regarding Local No. 49;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the City Council of the
City of Fridley that
A. The Twin City suburban section of the International
City Managers Association is hereby authorized to act
as the bargaining agent for the City of Fridley in
negotiations with International Union of Operating
Engineers, Local No. 49 for the 1973 and ensuing
contract years for the following:
1. Wage negotiations for benchmark positions
2. Negotiations for the master contract
B. That this policy will remain in effect until rescinded by
the Council of the City of Fridley
C. That the City Council shall retain the right to accept or
reject any and all proposed settlements.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY
