RESOLUTION NO. 8- 1973
RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT, APPROVAL OF PLANS
AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS: WATER IMPROVE -
MENT PROJECT #110
WHEREAS, the III Million Gallon Reservior is in need
of cleaning and repair;
WHEREAS,Comstock and Davis, Incorporated, the City's
Consulting Engineers have submitted plans and specifica-
tions for the above described work;
- `WHEREAS,Comstock and Davis, Incorporated have sub-
mitted these plaps and specifications for immediate repairs
and improvements for cleaning and repair of the 11z million
gallon reservior.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of
the City of Fridley, Minnesota, as follows:
1. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which
are attached hereto and made a part hereof, are
hereby approved.
2. The work to be performed under Water Improvement
Project #110 shall be performed under one con -
tract.
The City Engineer shall accordingly prepare and
cause to be inserted in the official newspaper advertise-
ments for bids upon the making of such improvements under
such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement
shall be published for two (2) weeks (at least 10 days),
and shall specify the work to be done and will state that
bids will be opened at 11:30 A. M. on the 5th day of
March , 1973 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall,
and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and
filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash
deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City
for five per cent (9%) :�f "t- amount of such a bid. That
the advertisement for bids For Water Improvement Project
#110 shall be substantially in form as that noted in
Exhibit 'B" attached hereto for reference and made a
part hereof.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the
City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office
of the City Manager, on the 5th day of March, 1973, at 11:30
A.M. and will be considered by the City of Fridley at a
regular council meeting at 7:30 P.M, on the 5th day of
March, 1973, for the furnishing of work and materials for
the painting of the existing 1.5 M.G. Ground Storage
Reservoir, Water Improvement Project No. 1100
The Project consists of the following:
The cleaning, repairing and resurfacing of the interior
and exterior surfaces of the existing prestressed
concrete 1.5 M.G. ground storage reservoir.
All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared
for the City of Fridley, Minnesota, by ComstosiF o Davis,
Inc., Consulting Engineers, 1446 County Road "J", Minn-
eapolis, Minnesota 55432, Telephone 784 -9346.
Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of
the City Manager, and copies may be obtained for the Con-
tractor's individual use by applying to the Engineers and
depositing with the Engineers $20.00 for each set. The
deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a
bonafide bid upon return of the documents in good condition
Within ten (10) days from the date of opening bids, and
to non - bidders upon return of the documents in good condition
prior to the bid opening.
Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the
work, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check
(on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota), or a
bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the
City of Fridley, Minnesota in an amount of not less than
5% of the total amount of the bid.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all
bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received
without explanation.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
