RESOLUTION NO. 9- 1973
' RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT, APPROVAL OF PLANS
AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS: WATER IMPROVE-
MENT PROJECT #111
WHEREAS, Wells #3, #9 and #11 are in need of repairs
and improvements;
WHEREAS, Comstock and Davis, Incorporated, the - [it's.
Consulting Engineers have submitted plans and specifications
for the above described work;
WHEREAS, Comstock and Davis, Incorporated have sub-
mitted these plans and specifications for immediate re-
pairs and improvements for Wells #3, #9 and #11.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the
City of Fridley, Minnesota, as follows:
1. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which
are attached hereto and made a part hereof, are
hereby approved.
2. The work to be performed under Water Improvement
Project #111 shall be performed under one contract.
The City Engineer shall accordingly prepare and cause
to be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements
for bids upon the making of such improvements under such
approved plans and specifications. The advertisement
shall be published for two (2) weeks (at least 10 days),
and shall specify the work to be done and will state that
bids will be opened at 11:30 A.M. on the 5th day of
February , 1973 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall,
and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and
filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit,
bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five
per cent (5 %) of the amount of such a bid. That the ad-
vertisement for bids for Water Improvement Project #111
shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit
"B" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the
City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office
of the City Manager, on the 5th day of February , 1973,
at 11:30 A.M. and will be considered by the City of
Fridley at a regular council meeting at 7:30 P.M. on the
5th day of February , 1973, for the furnishing of work
and materials for the modification of Wells 3, 9 and 11,
Water Improvement Project No.111.
The project consists of the following:
Well No. 3:
Re- development of well by bailing and high rate pumping,
including removal and resetting of existing deep well pump,
and all related work.
Well No. 9:
Modify existing well by advancing construction to the
Shakopee- Oneota Dolmite and Jordan Sandstone formation,
including - removal and resetting of the existing deep
well pump, and ail related work.
Well No. il;
Re- development of well by bailing and high rate pumping,
including removal and resetting of existing deep well pump,
and all related work. Y,
All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared
for the City pf Fridley, Minnesota, by Comstock & Davis,
Inc.. Consulting Engineers, 1446 County Road "J ", Minn-
eapolis, Minnesota 55432, Telephone 784 -9346.
Plans and snecificr';nns may be examined at the office of
City Manager, and copies may be obtained
for the Contractor's individual use by applying to the
Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $20.00 for
each set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder
submitting a bonafide bid upon return of the documents
in good condition within ten(10) days from the date of
opening bids, and to non- bidders upon return of the docu-
ments in good condition prior to the bid opening.
Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work,
and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a
responsible bank in the State of Minnesota), or a bidder's
bond and made payable without condition to the City of
Fridley, Minnesota in an amount of not less than 5% of the
total amount of the bid.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all
bids and to waive any informalities in any bids received
without explanation.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
