RESOLUTION NO. 48 -1977
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING CONCERN OVER THE PROPOSED SALARY INCREASE
NEGOTIATED FOR HIGHWAY PATROL OFFICERS
WHEREAS, a wage and fringe benefit package has been reached for State Highway
Patrol Officers; and
WHEREAS, the cost of the proposed salary benefit package for top highway
patrol officers will be approximately 14.4% higher than present salary costs; and
WHEREAS, the wage settlement package recommended for State Highway Patrol
Officers will have a strong influence on the cost of wage settlements for municipal
police officers, as well as other municipal employees; and
WHEREAS, municipalities have limited sources of revenue, particularly with the
6% levy limitation law in effect,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, that
the State Legislature consider the adverse affect the proposed settlement for State
Highway Patrol Officers will have on municipalities, if approved.
