RESOLUTION NO. 44 - 1978
A RESOLUTION APPROVING ELEVATIONS AND GRADES FOR INTERSECTION
IMPROVEMENTS ON TH 47 AT MISSISSIPPI STREET, OSBORNE ROAD AND
UNIVERSITY EXTENSION (ST. 1975 -4)
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Transportation for the State of Minnesota has
caused to be prepared; plans, special provisions and specifications for the
improvement of Trunk Highway No. 156, renumbered as Trunk Highway No. 47,
within the corporate limits of the City of Fridley, at Mississippi Street,
Osborne Road and University Avenue extension; and,
WHEREAS, said plans are on file in the Office of the Department of
Transportation, St. Paul, Minnesota; being marked, labeled and identified
as: S.P. 0205 -45 -46 (47 =156); and,
WHEREAS, said special provisions are on file in the Office of the Department
of Transportation, St. Paul, Minnesota; being marked, labeled and identified
as S.P. 0205 -45 -46 (47 =156); and, which, together with, the "Minnesota
Department of Highways Standard Specifications for highway Construction,"
dated January 1, 1972, as amended by Minnesota Department of Highways
Supplemental Specifications for Highway Construction, dated April 1, 1976,
will govern, and which are on file in the office of the Commissioner of
Transportation constitute the specifications for said improvement of Trunk
Highway No. 156, renumbered as Trunk Highway No. 47; and,
WHEREAS, copies of said plans and speical provisions as so marked, labeled
and identified are also on file in the office of the City Clerk; and,
WHEREAS, the term, said plans and special provisions, as hereinafter used in
the body of this Resolution will be deemed and intended to mean; refer to and
incorporate the plans and special provisions in the foregoing recitals
particularly identified and described; and,
WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Transportation desires in the interest of public
safety that any and all parking of vehicles, if such parking is permitted
within the corporate limits of the City of Fridley, on said Trunk Highway No.
156, renumbered as Trunk Highway No. 47, will be parallel with the curb ,
adjacent to the highway and will be at least 20 feet from any crosswalk.
NOW, THEN, BE IT RESOLVED that said plans and special provisions for the
improvement of Trunk Highway No. 156, renumbered as Trunk Highway No. 47,
within the corporate limits of the City of Fridley, be and hereby are approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Fridley does hereby agree to require
the parking of all vehicles, if such parking is permitted within the corporate
limits of said City, on said Trunk Highway No. 156, renumbered Trunk Highway
No. 47, will be parallel with the curb adjacent to the highway, and at least
20 feet from any crosswalks on all public streets intersecting said trunk
highway.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the elevations and grades as shown in said plans
and special provisions are hereby approved and consent is hereby given to
any and all changes in grade occasioned by the construction of Trunk Highway
No. 156, renumbered Trunk Highway No. 47, in accordance with said plans and
special provisions.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY THIS 5TH DAY OF JUNE, 1978.
