RESOLUTION RATIFYING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
RELATING TO AN AGREEMENT FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES REPRESENTED
BY LOCAL NO. 49, AFL -CIO (PUBLIC WORKS) FOR 1984- 1986
(INSURANCE AND WAGES)
WHEREAS, on March 18, 1985, the City Council of the City of Fridley ratified
the agreement between the International Union of Operating Engineers Local No.
49, AFL -CIO, as bargaining representative for certain Public Works employees
of the City of Fridley for calendar years 1984 through 1986 (Resolution No. 22
- 1985); and
WHEREAS, Article XXIII Duration of said agreement reads as follows:
This AGREEMENT shall be effective as of January 1, 1984 and shall
remain in full force and effect until the 31st day of December,
1986, except that either party may reopen for negotiations for
calendar 1986 the wage rates in APPENDIX A and the amount of
insurance to be shown in ARTICLE 19.2; and
WHEREAS, the attached Memorandum of Understanding has been agreed to by
representatives of the Union and the City.
I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fridley that
said Memorandum of Understanding is hereby ratified.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY THIS 3RD DAY OF
FEBRUARY, 1986

The stated dollar amount in ARTICLE XIX, Section 19.1 of $155.00 for calendar
1985 will be increased by Ten Dollars ($10.00) for calendar 1986. Thus
Section 19.2 shall read;
"19.2 The EMPLOYER will contribute up to a maximum of one hundred sixty -five
dollars ($165.00) per month per employee for group health and life
insurance including dependent coverage for calendar 1986."

' APPENDIX A - WAGES
The MAINTENANCE II classification shall be increased by four percent (48
($.45)).
Classifications equal to or below the MAINTENANCE II wage rate shall be
increased by four percent (48).
Classifications equal to or above the MAINTENANCE II wage rate shall be
increased by forty -five cents ($.45) per hour.
Thus Section A of Appendix A - Wages shall read:
"The following wage schedule will be in effect from the f irst payroll period
in 1986 through the last payroll period in 1986:
MAINTENANCE III . . . . $ 12.23 ($.45)
MAINTENANCE II . . . . $ 11.75 (4% ($.45))
MAINTENANCE I . . . . . $ 8.47 (4 %)"

DURATION
As previously agreed the duration of the Labor Agreement shall be through
December 31, 1986.
