RESOLUTION NO. 11 - 1986
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN THE CITY OF FRIDLEY AND CERTAIN EMPLOYEES
REPRESENTED BY LOCAL NO. 49, AFL -CIO (PUBLIC WORKS) FOR
1986 (HOLIDAY)
WHEREAS, the Minnesota State Legislature has decided that the third Monday in
January shall be observed as Martin Luther King Day effective January 20,
1986; and
WHEREAS, the Master Labor Agreement between the Metropolitan Area Management
Association and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local No. 49
(AFL -CIO) for the period of time from January 1, 1984, to December 31, 1986,
states in Article XX. HOLIDAYS: "The EA7PLOYER will provide eleven (11) paid
holidays "; and
WHEREAS, the determination of which eleven holidays would exist in each City
is discussable at the local level; and
WHEREAS, representatives of the Union and the City have met and negotiated
regarding the determination of said holidays; and
' WHEREAS, agreement has been reached between representatives of the two parties
on the determination of said holidays for calendar year 1986.
NDW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fridley that
the agreement contained in the attached Memorandum of Understanding is hereby
ratified and that the Mayor and the City Manager are hereby authorized to sign
the attached Memorandum of Understanding relating to working conditions of
employees of the City of Fridley Public Works Department.

These are the eleven (11) holidays to be observed by members of the local
Fridley bargaining unit of the International Union of Operating Engineers,
Local Union No. 49 (AFL -CIO) during calendar year 1986 in accordance with
Article XX. HOLIDAYS of the Master Labor Agreement between the Metropolitan
Area Management Association and the International Union of Operating
Engineers, Local No. 49 (AFL -CIO) for the period of time from January 1, 1984
to December 31, 1986 and dated March 18, 1985:
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this Memorandum of
Understanding on this day of 1986.
