RESOLUTION NO. 54 - 1986
RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION
OF A COOPERATIVE ODNSTRUCTION AGREEMENT WITH THE MINNESOTA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR STREET IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT ST. 1986 -3
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 48 - 1986 ordered the construction of the University
Avenue West Service Drive from 81st Avenue to 83rd Avenue approved the plans
and ordered advertisement for bids; and
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation has drafted a cooperative
construction agreement which estimates the cost sharing of this project to be
$96,314.00 for the State and $13,837.50 for the City of Fridley.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fridley,
Anoka County, Minnesota as follows:
1. That the following improvement, including grading, stabilized base, hot
mix bituminous mat, concrete curb and gutter, sidewalks, water and sanitary
sewer services, storm sewer system, and other facilities located as follows:
University Avenue West Service Drive 81st Avenue to 83rd Avenue
2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a cooperative
construction agreement with the Minnesota Department of Transportation for the
construction of this project.
3. The plans and specifications prepared by the Public Works Director for
such improvements are hereby approved and shall be filed with the City Clerk.
The Public Works Director shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted
in the official newspaper advertisements or bids upon the making of such
improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement
shall be published for three (3) weeks (at least 21 days) , and shall specify
the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at
11:00 a.m. on the 15th day of July 1986 in the Council Chambers of the City
Hall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the
Public Works Director, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or
certified check payable to the City for five percent (5%) of the amount of
such bid.
