A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHANGES IN APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE
GENERAL FUND RESULTING FROM THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A
CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN FOR CITY EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Pay Equity Act of 1984 requires every political
subdivision to establish "equitable compensation relationships" among its
employees; and
WHEREAS, on July 20, 1987, the City Council of the City of Fridley passed and
adopted Resolution No. 59 - 1987 approving a Classification and Compensation
Plan for City employees; and
WHEREAS, in the above mentioned resolution the City Council authorized the
City Manager to expend funds necessary to implement the Classification and
Compensation Plan for City employees in two stages effective October 1, 1987
and July 1, 1988; and
WHEREAS, total salary adjustments in accordance with the Plan will amount to
$87,356.00 for the 1988 calendar year.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
by the City Council of the City of
Fridley,
Minnesota, that funds in the amount of $87,356.00 be reallocated
from the
General Fund Emergency Reserve
to be used for the implementation
of salary
'
adjustments for employees of
the City of Fridley in accordance
with the
Classification and Compensation
Plan for City employees.
