1 THE MINIITES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE FRIDLEY CITY COUNCIL OF
MARCH 30, 1992
The Special Meeting of the Fridley City Council was called to order
at 7:37 p.m. by Mayor Nee.
ROLL CALL•
MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Nee, Councilwoman Jorgenson, Councilman
Billings, Councilman Schneider, and Councilman
Fitzpatrick.
MEMBERS ABSENT: None.
OLD BUSINESS:
ORDINANCE N0. 987 REPEALING CHAPTER 1 OF THE FRIDLEY CITY CODE
IN ITS ENTIRETY AND ADOPTING A NEW CHAPTER 1 ENTITLED
"LEGISLATIVE BODY" RELATING TO WARD AND PRECINCT BOUNpARIES
WITHIN THE CITY:
� Mayor Nee stated that all Council members were present, and all
Council members received notice of the meeting.
MOTION by Councilman Schneider to waive the second reading and
adopt Ordinance 987 on the second reading and order publication.
Seconded by Councilwoman Jorgenson. Mayor Nee asked if there was
any discussion.
Councilman Billings asked Acting City Manager, James Hill, if all
the notification requirements have been met for the special
meeting.
Mr. Hill stated that staff has researched the notification question
and that all requirements have been satisfied. Mr. Hill said that
the research included a review of State statutes and City Charter
provisions. The Minnesota Secretary of State's office was also
contacted to see if there were any special notification
requirements regarding this particular item. We were advised that
there were no special requirements. All research was verified by
the City Attorney's office that the special meeting met all
requirements.
Mayor Nee called for the vote on the motion. Upon a voice vote,
all voting aye, Mayor Nee declared the motion carried unanimously.

ADJOURNMENT:
MOTION by Councilwoman Schneider to adjourn the meeting. Seconded
by Councilman Schneider. Upon a voice vote, all voting aye, Mayor
Nee declared the motion carried unanimously and the March 30, 1992,
Special Meeting of the Fridley City Council adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
