RESOLUTION NO. 64 - 1992
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE ANOKA COUNTY BOARD
OF COMMISSIONERS TO PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTAL
FUNDING FOR THE SHARED RIDE TAXI PROGRAM FOR
1992 AND TO INCREASE THE BUDGETED ALLOCATION
FOR 1993
WHEREAS, the Shared Ride Taxi Program provides a valuable service
to the citizens of Fridley as well as to those of Columbia Heights
and Hilltop; and
WHEREAS, it is estimated that in 1992 over 36,000 rides will be
provided to residents of these three cities in an economical manner
by Shared Ride Taxi; and
WHEREAS, the rest of Anoka County is served by the Traveler Dial -
A -Ride van service at no direct cost to those municipalities; and
WHEREAS, a financial forecast for the Shared Ride Taxi Program
projects a deficit.of $14,389 for 1992 as well as expenses of
$18,426 over the preliminary budget for 1993;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Fridley to request the Anoka County Board of Commissioners to
provide $14,389 in supplemental funding for the Shared Ride Taxi
Program in 1992 and to increase the 1993 budget allocation for the
same by $18,426 (i.e. from $25,000 to $43,426).
