RESOLUTION NO. 40 -1964
RESOLUTION RECEIVING FINAL PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND
ORDERING BIDS - BOOSTER STATION AND T.H. #694 CROSSING
W -34M AND W -340
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley has heretofore commenced proceedings
for an improvement known as Project W -34, and,
' WHEREAS, a public hearing on said improvement was concluded by the
City Council on June 21, 1960, wherein a general water works improvement
involving a total estimated cost of $2,234,200.00 was approved and which
involved a possible assessment to benefitted property owners throughout
the City of Fridley, and,
WHEREAS, Comstock and Davis, Inc., the Consulting Engineers, have
heretofore made a report on said Project W -34 and from time to time have
supplemented the original report, including a Supplemental Report dated
February 3, 1964.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, BY the City Council of the City of
Fridley, Minnesota:
1. That the Supplemental Report concerning the plans and specifications
on Project W -34M and involving boosters -high level be received.
2. That the Supplemental Report with the plans and specifications
and concerning the crossing of Highway #694 be received.
3. That the final plans and specifications for Projects designated
as W -34M and W -340 are hereby approved.
4. That the City Manager shall prepare and cause to be inserted in
' the official paper an advertisement for bids upon the making of
the improvement known as Project W -34M and Project W -340 under
the approved plans and specifications; that the advertisement
shall be published for three weeks (at least 21 days), and shall
specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened
and considered at 12 :00 o'clock noon on the 6th day of April, 1964,
in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, and that no bids will
be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk, and
accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable
to the City for five (5%) per cent of the amount of such bid.

•NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Sealed bids will be received and publicly opened by the City of Fridley,
Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager, on the 6th
day of April, 1964 at 12 :00 Noon, and will be considered by the City
Council of the City of Fridley, at a regular Council Meeting, at 8:00
P.M. on the 6th day of April, 1964, for the furnishing of work and
materials for the installation of Water Improvement Project No. 34 -M.
The project consists of the following:
Construction of a masonry high level booster pumping station
complete with pumps; controls, _interior and exterior piping,
pressure reduction station and related appurtenances.
All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of
Fridley, Minnesota, by Comstock & Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers,
1446 County Road "J ", Minneapolis 32, Minnesota, Telephone: SUnset 4 -9346.
Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager,
and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying
to the Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $15.00 for each set. The
deposit will be refunded to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid upon return
of the documents in good condition within ten (10) days from the date of
opening bids and to non - bidders upon return of the documents in good condition
prior to the bid opening.
Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work, and accompanied
by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of
Minnesota), or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the City
of Fridley, Minnesota, in an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount
of the bid.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive any
informalities in any bids received without explanation.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period-of thirty (30) days.
