RES 1995-31 - 0000287145 RESOLUTION NO. 31 - 1995 ' RESOLUTION REQUESTING SIX CITIES WATERSHED MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION RESOLVE THE STONYBROOK CREEK IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WHEREAS, the Stonybrook Creek within the City of Fridley from East River Road west to the Mississippi River confluence has experienced tremendous erosion due to upstream improvements, and WHEREAS, the residents of this area of the Stonybrook Creek have requested the City to correct this problem and restore their properties, and WHEREAS, the City of Fridley has reviewed a number of alternate solutions, and WHEREAS, an acceptable solution to the residents has been received, and WHEREAS, the Six Cities Watershed Management Organization identified in the Capital Improvement Program, a project to be implemented by a supplemental Joint Powers Agreement between Spring Lake Park and Fridley for the erosion correction of Stonybrook Creek stream bed, and WHEREAS, the City of Fridley has attempted to coordinate a funding solution between the two cities for this improvement, and WHEREAS, the City of Spring Lake Park has not been willing to contribute a proportionate share to this project, and WHEREAS, the City submitted a letter to the Six Cities Watershed Management Organization on April 17, 1995 regarding this project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the City Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, request the Six Cities Watershed Management Organization to resolve the impasse on the Capital Improvement Project for Stonybrook Creek in accordance with Section 3.6 of the Joint Powers Agreement, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, this action be initiated as expeditiously as possible to allow for construction this year.
