RES 2011-17 - 14802RESOLUTION NO. 2011 -17 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR DNR LOCAL TRAIL CONNECTION GRANT FUNDS FOR UNITY HOSPITAL HEALTH WALK TO RICE CREEK REGIONAL TRAIL WHEREAS, the City of Fridley supports a grant application made to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for the Local Trail Connection Program, which will provide a connection from Unity Hospital's Health Walk to Madsen Park and across 73rd Avenue to the Rice Creek Regional Trail Fridley; and WHEREAS, the City of Fridley recognizes the fifty (50) percent match requirement of the Local Trail Connection Program and has secured the matching funds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED if the City of Fridley is awarded a grant by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, the City of Fridley agrees to accept the grant award, and may enter into an agreement with the State of Minnesota for the above referenced project. The City of Fridley will comply with all applicable laws, environmental requirements and regulations as stated in the grant agreement; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Fridley will act as its own fiscal agent for this project; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Fridley hereby assures the connection from Unity Hospital Health Walk to the Rice Creek Regional Trail will be maintained for a period of no less than 20 years.
