A RESOLUTION ORDERING PREPARATION OF A PRELIMINARY REPORT AND
PRELMNARY PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE JACKSON STREET
DRAINAGE AND STREET Il"ROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 413
WHEREAS, several residents along the 7300 and 7400 blacks of Jackson Street have identified the
need for a solution to the undesirable effects of sump pump discharge from several properties along
Jackson Street,
AND WHEREAS, City staff held an open house to discuss this issue on December 14, 2001,
AND WHEREAS, residents attending the open house indicated that they also want to incorporate
resurfacing of the street in addition to the storm sewer improvements above,
AND WHEREAS, the City Council was presented on January 9, 2012 with petitions for bath
improvements signed by a majority of the affected owners,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fridley as follows:
That it appears in the interests of the City and of the property owners affected that there be
constructed certain improvements to -wit:
Storm water improvements, including allowance for connection of sump pump discharge
services, street improvements, including milling, bituminous asphalt overlay, pavement
reclamation, and utility repairs including Jackson Street from 73rd Avenue to 75th Avenue.
That the work involved in said improvements listed above shall hereafter be designated as:
CITY OF FRIDLEY PROJECT NO. 413
2. That the Public Works Director, James P. Kosluchar, City Hall, Fridley, MN, is hereby
authorized and directed to draw the preliminary plans and specifications and to tabulate the
results of his estimates of the casts of completion and all fees and expenses incurred (or to be
incurred) in preliminary report of his finding stating therein whether said improvements are
feasible and whether they can best be made as proposed, or in connection with some other
improvements (and the estimated casts as recommended), including also a description of the
lands or area as may receive benefits there from and as may be proposed to be assessed.
3. That said preliminary report of the Public Works Director shall be furnished to the City Council.
